Very sad how little love this game got from the developers and from the gaming public. Flawed because the developers did not commit to competitive balancing, but very fun and the special effects look great (even if the characters don't). Good game.

The anime chase fighter that could have been.. </3 It's bittersweet to think about how great this game could have been, despite the shortcomings. The world here is very empty. Some of the animations are lazy with the vehicles you use to move around the hub. The combo system is probably the shallowest I've ever experienced in any game and the story here is just alright at best. The roster should have been 200 characters deep at launch or at the very least 150 minimum. Shonen Jump/Viz has thousands of characters that are so cool, vast and interesting. Not to mention Bandai shutting the servers down for the multiplayer only to eventually swap them to being peer2peer. For all the hype that came with this game when it was first announced in 2018(?) it could have been so much more and then some! If Bandai actually cared about all the anime franchises they've been given the go to make games with, we could have had a legendary game, possibly series of games with. Another cash grab because us anime fans will eat anything we can get since it's a wasteland out there for any anime licensed games, let alone quality ones. Though at the end of all this, I do think you should give this game a try …
seems to me the mixed reviews is because sweaty fighting game gamers want to be sweaty in a casual fighting game. its not meant to be complicated. play with your friends and enjoy the back and forth
