Kalimba, developed by Press Play and published by Xbox Game Studios, is a puzzle-platformer built around a deceptively simple idea that evolves into something far more demanding than it first appears. Beneath its bright colors and clean presentation lies a game that challenges coordination, spatial awareness, and timing in ways that feel both inventive and occasionally punishing. It’s a tightly designed experience that doesn’t rely on narrative or spectacle, but instead on the steady escalation of its central mechanic. The premise is minimal and largely symbolic, revolving around a shattered totem and the restoration of balance to a stylized world disrupted by a dark force. Sadly this game appears to be broken on modern hardware, causing the computer to completely lock up and require a hard reboot. None of the fixes discussed in the community hub were able to solve the problem. Quite literally unplayable, which is a real shame because it was a great game back when I first played it years ago.
A short and really fun, realized experienced

During it's 2-3 hours, Kalimba screwed with my mind in a delightful way (even if some checkpoints were not the best placed). It has a concept it wants to explore, and it does it well. While it's not really something everyone needs to play once in their lives, it sure would be great if they did.
8/10
