About PolyCore

Polycore A 2D pixel-art platformer with a geometric twist. You are Polycore, a sentient 12-sided interdimensional being, peacefully orbiting a strange, colorful planet—until a mysterious spaceship blasts you out of the sky. Crashing into the planet’s core, you're shattered, reduced to a mere triangle. Your mission: rebuild yourself, piece by piece, and seek revenge. Climb. Collect. Conquer. Begin your journey in the crater you created. Every jump challenges your agility and your mind, as you hunt down your lost sides, each one reshaping your form. As you evolve from triangle to square to dodecagon, your thirst for vengeance increases exponentially. Features: Dynamic shape-shifting mechanics Smooth, responsive platforming built for precision and experimentation Epic finale: Reclaim your full form, return to orbit, and bring the battle back to the stars Will you reclaim your sides and your strength? Or stay shattered forever?

The Polycore, an eldritch being of shape and form. The silent fractal adventuerer explores the reaches of deep space, orbiting an unknown planet. Suddenly, as it searches for more shapes, it is knocked into the atmosphere by a ship of intruders warping in. Falling through the surface of the planet, it finds it has lost form and must regain its shape. Trapped within the depths of unfamiliar ruins, with only one way out! Will you help the Polycore utilize and build back its geometry and escape back into the void?

Well, essentially this game is a minimalist version of "Getting Over It". It is fine if you are a masochist. The game runs well and the physics feel solid. I'd recommend it to friends who enjoy these kind of games. I'd personally like to see more settings added and maybe a map or at least a way to zoom out so you have an idea which way you are trying to go other than up. I guess the Synopsis is basic but functional.

This game is extremely good and outside the box which you do become at one point. However this game is not easy and as some would say it makes you want to commit violence against small children. I do believe the only thing really needed is some kinda map or indicator on where to go. Other than that i highly recommend this game. Keep up the good work Devs.

This game is slightly infuriating.. Is that going to stop me from playing? Hell no, but it's not a walk in the park. Good game, but I wish there was a map or zoom tool so I could see where I'm going. I've been told it is easier with a mouse than a track pad so keep that in mind if you decide to play.

"PolyCore" is one of literally thousands of retro 2D platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere... and I'm not kidding. Searching for "platformers" on the Steam store page yields over 17,000 results! Is this one of the best of those? Absolutely not. This is a particularly badly made 2D retro pixel/minimalist platformer where you control a polygon (what fun) and features a crappy shape morphing gimmick that doesn't do anything to counter any of the obvious problems with this failed train wreck. Platforming is an old, mostly dead genre, and this lacklustre experience, while it doesn't have an upfront cost, isn't saving the genre... it's no surprise this failed to capture any attention from gamers in the era of immersive 3D gaming. The graphics here are particularly awful, so bad that it actually stands out as one of the worst looking games on Steam. Quite an accomplishment. It's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. Now on to pricing and val…
