About KARNAL
KARNAL is a short atmospheric experience inspired by classic shooters from the 90's, with a modern twist.
You assume the role of an anonymous journalist, who finds himself in a scenario blurring the lines between nightmare and reality. Your objective is to escape confinement, return home, and ensure your wife's safety.

- UNREAL ENGINE 5 LUMEN - This game was made using Unreal Engine 5, and uses Lumen for realistic global illumination & reflections.
- UNFORGIVING DIFFICULTY - You must master your movement and weapons, manage resources, and take advantage of your environment to get through everything the game throws at you.
- SECRETS & LOST TAPES - There are plenty of Easter Eggs for you to find, secrets within secrets, and the "Lost Tapes" side content.
- ARENA MODE - Save up money (or gamble) to purchase weapons and supplies, then battle endless waves of enemies in your arena of choice.

Honestly, I really like the game and concept. I'm a big fan of the boomer shooter genre, and super overprotective of my soon to be wife, so when I read the description I got super psyched. It seemed just like my kind of game. And It's really good, I like the semi-realism approach, combat is simple, but fun. It's not too difficult at all, except for the stupid parkour in the apartments. It sucks not having a save feature, and I know that it's probably an intended purpose, but I just need one man, one for the stupid parkour section so I don't have to keep re-running the level. Other than that, really good concept and plot. I'm super excited for whatever else they release.4 found this helpful
I definitly understand the mixed review score. If I could, I would give the game a neutral rating. The game is a horror shooter, not really survival horror, nor an old school fps. It has some decent shooting but it has enough issues: -reloading a weapon removes all bullets in your current clip, which is annoying -enemies can sometimes hit you while they are dying -it's sometimes impossible to avoid getting hit -no checkpoints during a level, which is epecially annoying in a level with some platforming where you die if you fail a jump -on normal difficulty the game does not even tell you how much hp and ammo you have left in your clip -all your items and hp get reset when entering a new level -very short campaign (around 25 minutes), then you have 4 bonus levels which are also very short and a very unbalanced arena/horde mode For the price you can definitly do worse, so maybe check it out. It's like a 5,5/10.1 found this helpful
The last arena fight sucks rocks and the floaty nature makes the wierrd platforming section also suck, elsewise for a cheap shooter it's a bop1 found this helpful
Excellent little game. Does exactly what makes a janky fps interesting and does it well too.
