About Kessler Syndrome
Alone in orbit with the corpse of your only colleague and no way to reach Earth, play as a weary astronaut who must struggle to keep a defunct space station in orbit. While aboard the Damocles space station you must maintain the various systems aboard, deal with the ever-present threat of great storms of space junk, and navigate the dark halls in zero-gravity. Day by day more and more systems fail, and the cold of the void draws ever closer.
Kessler Syndrome is a student made slow-burn horror game, developed at Champlain College as a capstone project. We are excited to showcase what we have been working on this semester to any and all who may be interested!
Key features:
6 degrees of freedom allows you to float through the space station with ease
Check your task log and navigate your way through the ship to pick up tools and complete tasks
Maintain the ship for a week to achieve a climactic conclusion.

Kessler Syndrome is an amateur/indie adventure game where you need to survive by moving around in 3D on a damaged space station. Cool premise, it's a shame about the implementation. One important note is that even though this is an amateur project, it does seem to be sincerely and genuinely made. I couldn't find any flipped assets, plagiarism or any other kind of insincere actions from the developer, but unfortunately genuine intentions alone are not enough to produce a brilliant PC gaming experience. It's also very short, and I know it's free, so that's fine, but it should factor into your decision about whether you want to download this or not. It feels a lot like a tech demo or a student project. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets with a crap 2D retro pixel filter slapped over, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the early 1990s. You can't turn the filter off, either. This very poor quality visual style is a method that lazy devs often use to disguise their lack of talent/interest in doing the graphics properly and tr…6 found this helpful
Honestly, on the surface this isn't a BAD game, but the choice of using the zero gravity movement and not really make the areas look any different to help navigate meant I was getting lost a LOT and just getting annoyed when I would get turned around and be upside down.
sucks even for free haha
The game has potential! The atmosphere and style are amazing. And the idea that you can move at any direction is very cool! But currently, the movement is frustrating: Mouse speed is dependent on what direction you are looking at. Very fast or very slow. Rolling (Q and E) feels stiff and slow. It has no inertia. Navigation around the ship is confusing, the colored wires and signs help. But it is still easy to get lost. I can't comment on the tasks because I didn't do a lot of them. Also I think I softlocked myself at the end of day 2 because I was unable to go to sleep after doing all the tasks. Perhaps I interacted with a wrong computer?
Good art direction, good premise, unfortunately I think the dev forgot to make a game.
It was ok, the 3rd day got confusing https://youtu.be/p46OehL78AE is my video on it.
