The game suffers from a severe disconnect between the themes it appears to want to convey and the way it actually presents them, while the writing itself is often painfully awkward. Despite being developed and voiced by Chinese creators, its entire narrative style imitates Japanese visual novels and light novels so heavily that many scenes end up feeling forced, unnatural, and unintentionally embarrassing. First, I have to bring up a Japanese novel published in 2011: [i] Imperfect Girl [/i] ([i] 少女不十分 / Shōjo Fujūbun [/i]), because this game borrows from it extensively—if I'm being less charitable, I'd call it imitation bordering on plagiarism. Even if you haven't read it, a brief summary should suffice.
