The game poses as a fun adventure of managing your tribe, but it turns out to be Excel spreadsheet simulator... except you can't see the numbers. It's a strategy game where numbers matter the most, yes. Which normally wouldn't be a problem. But here you won't see these numbers, you won't see your chances, and you have to guess why you failed. With such a bad game design idea, I don't even know how this game earned enough money to provide for sequel. Doesn't matter if you pick the easiest difficulty, if the RNG is bad, the gods don't look favorably at you or sth, you won't save your clan unless you know what you're doing. And you won't at the start. Because the tutorial is ♥♥♥♥. Many mechanics are so obscure and poorly explained that you won't know how to manage them unless you spend hundreds of hours on trials-and-errors, or digging through walkthroughs and wikis. What strikes me positively, though, is how the game forces you to educate yourself the world lore in order to make correct decisions, especially in the case of hero quests. You can't just brute-force them. You have to know how would your hero act in the myth. I have never seen such idea in a game.

Trash mobile version. Lazy PC port. Supposedly adds new events, but honestly didn't get far enough to see the new events as the new art style/UI, and lack of Tula, sucks the heart and soul right out of this version. Find the classic and play that instead.

I tried and played this on Steam. This game was my intro to the Dusty Game Society and unfortunately, it was a bit of a dud. I really didn't enjoy it. I went in knowing this definitely wasn't my kind of game, but I tried to play for the sake of the Society, but...no. I did not enjoy it. Chiefly, to be fair, because there is just FAR too much reading, if I could just be frank, at risk of sounding like an iPad baby. To be clear, I'm a 32 year old Special Ed Teacher. I like reading. I did not like reading this much and I was confused almost the whole time. I'm very hopeful that next month brings a game I can be more excited about and really sink my teeth into!

I'm sure there's a great game in there somewhere but I found it marred heavily by poor UI and UX. It took me a while just to figure out that I could change my leaders and how to do so and accept them. There's no real hints as to whether any of your resource spends are totally inadequate, ok, etc.. I suspect it would strongly benefit from fewer options or "pick for me" in easy modes. Good example are the heroquests which apparently have difficulties but no way apart from wrecking your game/failing to begin to tell them apart. If you have LOTS of time to old school explore and redo and redo and redo maybe it's your thing. Probably if I had spent time reading through "how to play" videos it would be different - but after a few days of trying in my limited spare time, I just find it frustrating and feel lost. For example, I have no idea about trade, what should or shouldn't, how much to "sacrifice" on mysteries (at all), and when retaliating on a raid we wiped the floor with them (we had literally ZERO losses and there were major losses on their part) yet somehow despite massively smashing them and losing absolutely ZERO we were deemed as the loser and now my tribe is angry? WTH? Ang…
