got the game a bit ago, wanted to wait a bit to let the game get polished a bit before reviewing, but felt like its been enough time to give a review. did a quick run again recently to make sure the problems were still preasent. the game is an interesting primes, and I do want to like it. but, it is lacking so many quality of life features, and lacking a generally good user interface. It's an interesting concept being a pve real time tactical game that you can play with everyone all at once. but for that to work, you need to be able to tell the difference between your own soldiers, and other players, as is all soldiers on your side are the same color, making the only way for you to tell which unit is your own is to manually keep track of them. as a tactics game, feedback to the user is severally lacking, when you tell your units to go somewhere, they will just start to slooooooowly slide on over there no travel lines to confirm they are going where you want them which is a problem especially with Calvary, as it just feels like they're randomly skidding around on ice when i want them to go into 1 very specific location then for this specific type of tactical gameplay, where sold…5 found this helpful
Maybe there is a game here but you'd have to find another player. I found nothing.3 found this helpful
"Kings of Emperor Bonaparte" is a very, very amateurish attempt to make a strategy wargame in the Napoleonic era... sure, not the biggest draw for these games, but Total War: Napoleon did pretty well, and unfortunately for the developer here, Total War: Napoleon exists. I mean sure, that costs money, but this is garbage in comparison. Sure, the game touts online PvP, too, but there's no players for obvious reasons. What do you do in the game? Control Napoleonic era armies... but the graphics are so phoned in they're just boxes. You don't even get a proper little picture of a cannon or a dude on horseback on your units, that's too hard and too graphically intensive I guess. Just red and blue squares with a little black pixelblob to represent the unit. The graphics here are particularly awful, so bad that it actually stands out as one of the worst looking games on Steam. Quite an accomplishment. It's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. On the matter of pricing and value for gamers, …3 found this helpful
