What Steam players say

Players praise Kiyo for its unique and surreal visual style, engaging story, and approachable yet thoughtful gameplay that blends stealth mechanics with narrative elements. The game's originality, clever world-building details, and thoughtful design are frequently highlighted, with particular appreciation for how it caters to both experienced and casual gamers. Some players note frustration with specific sections, particularly those involving dogs, though this is a minor complaint in an otherwise well-received indie title.
I am really loving Kiyo so far! You can really feel the care and attention that went in to every little aspect of this game. I'm several hours in and I'm still blown away by all the twists and turns, all the cool and fun (and quite hard at times!) challenges that just keep on coming. The music and art are great, and it must be said how incredible the lighting and graphics are, very impressive and immersive results for a 2d platformer. The vibes are so so good too, the beautiful neon city to explore, the humorous moments, and the little cast of characters that we meet and play as are all so endearing. Highly recommended to try this one out.2 found this helpful
Still playing playing through the story. The visual style is pretty unique in the way pixel art and lighting are mixed. There is a variety of mechanics, the setting and the story can be pretty funny.2 found this helpful
This game combines polished stealth mechanics with a world that is full of mystery and charm. It blends a dystopian universe with endearing characters and cunning humour. I love the neo-noir aesthetics (very reminiscent of Blade Runner), the lighting effects (which are functional to the stealth gameplay) and the upbeat soundtrack.1 found this helpful
I've had the chance to playtest Kiyo during its development, and it's been amazing to watch it grow into such a polished game. The developers have done a fantastic job bringing their vision to life. Kiyo has a wonderfully intriguing atmosphere, a delightfully weird story, fun platforming gameplay, and an excellent soundtrack. It blends cuteness with horror, something you don't see often, and it works really well. If you're a fan of adventure platformers, you should absolutely give Kiyo a try.1 found this helpful
Witty!
Played the demo and earlier playtests already, very excited to see this is now fully released :) The artstyle is to die for, the story is equal parts funny and captivating, and the gameplay is super original. The world needs more platformers like this <3
