I like this better than Mina.2 found this helpful
Funny, quirky, innovative with great music and memorable characters. I watched the development of this game for years and I'd say it was worth the wait.1 found this helpful
I followed this game all the way back during its kickstarter, and while I never got to back it, I did get the game as soon as it came out (Although only getting around to playing it now. Life is like that.) The demo gets mentioned a lot because it really did set the expectation that this game was going to be quirky but grim. However, the full game doesn't deliver on that promise. From start to finish, the story meanders, never really finding meaning nor purpose. The characters are all flat and uninteresting, and searching for dialogue always ends up running up dry. By the end of it, I struggled to find a single character I actually enjoyed seeing on screen, and I couldn't tell you the plot if I tried. It's just a collection of Things that Happen until THE END shows up. Mysteries aren't solved in a satisfying way, no character progression happens, just Stuff. In the post-credits, the author talks directly to the player about how they love games with worlds that feel like they exist beyond our view, and it was amazing seeing this after everything I played because I do not feel this game has one of those worlds. The only thing that kept me interested was the combat. The comb…
A wacky and fun turn based RPG (with minigames!!!!! wow!!) comparable to games like Earthbound, Deltarune, Undertale, etc. I would definitely recommend giving it a shot if you enjoyed any of those, especially if its on sale. I really loved the characters, soundtrack, gameplay and the story (despite its flaws) and overall found it quite memorable. Its awesome and really a hidden gem, I'm suprised more people dont talk about it.
This was a mostly fun and interesting game, with weird characters, fun sprite work and great music. It's a very self aware game playing on the tropes of games that came before it. Unfortunately in the end it kind of felt like a bit of a missed shot though, there was a lot of potential there to do something more engaging. The story set up is much more interesting than the actual story, it veers off suddenly. It veers off quite frequently actually, the plot bounces around from thing to thing, person to person and it feels like nothing ever gets fully fleshed out and developed. I think how erratic it is might be the point, an intentional stylistic choice, but it also makes it feel like somebody is making up the game as they go without it being all mapped out beforehand (then wrapping things up suddenly as they realise they need to finish the thing) Overall it's funny, has some great interesting visuals and music. It's stylish and has enough weird gameplay variations to throw at you that you don't feel like you're just playing pokemon. I can't help shake the feeling this could have been a lot better than it was though, maybe that's not a fair criticism since what it was was still goo…
