About Kobold Delvers
About Kobold Delvers
Kobold Delvers is a 2D puzzle game about guiding small kobolds through dangerous underground caves using a wide variety of simulated materials.Dig, place, burn, freeze, melt and combine materials to create safe paths, solve environmental puzzles and help every kobold reach the exit.Guide the kobolds
Your goal is simple: get the kobolds to safety. They will walk through the level on their own, so you must prepare the cave before it is too late. Shape the terrain, redirect hazards and use the available materials carefully to keep them alive.Experiment with reactive materials
Each level gives you a limited budget of materials. Sand falls, water flows, wood burns, lava melts, vines grow, ice freezes, dynamite explodes and many other materials interact with each other in different ways.Understanding how these materials behave is the key to solving each puzzle.Plan, test and adapt
There is rarely only one way to solve a level. You can pause the simulation, inspect the cave, place materials and watch your plan unfold. If something goes wrong, restart and try a different approach.Features
- 2D puzzle gameplay based on simulated materials.
- Hand-crafted levels with environmental challenges.
- Reactive systems involving sand, water, fire, lava, ice, wood, vines, dynamite and more.
- A sandbox mode for experimenting freely with materials.
- Compact cave-based puzzles focused on logic, planning and experimentation.
- Cute kobolds, dangerous caves and plenty of chaotic material interactions.

✦ AI summary
Players appreciate this puzzle game's charming concept and polished presentation, particularly praising its exploration-based mechanics where figuring things out yourself is part of the fun. Common complaints center on overly restrictive resource budgets that force tedious pixel-by-pixel building, kobolds dying too quickly at level starts, and a relatively short content length with level design that doesn't fully exploit the available mechanics.
(Ignore the time, I fell asleep while playing.) It's a very fun game where you just have to figure out what things do. There's no time limit so you will eventually get it. Also, I hecking love kobolds.2 found this helpful
Fun and simple puzzles, and extremely polished for a free game! My only issue was that I often found myself wishing there was a 1-pixel wide brush, especially on the later levels where I had to repeatedly click to make weird holey bridges to stay under the resource limit.2 found this helpful
Great concept, but needs a little more time in the oven. Most levels start with the kobolds dying almost immediately, forcing me to pause at the start of every level. The budget is a little too strict, forcing me to manually place single dots to build paths. There are lots of different materials but the level design doesn't take full advantage of the mechanics. I wish there were more levels and levels that didn't have such trivial yet mechanically frustrating solutions.1 found this helpful
I'm a big fan of physics puzzles, and these were pretty solid. It only took an hour to beat all 12 levels, but I couldn't figure out how to get more than two stars on the last two. The mechanics aren't explained, so you need to figure them out on your own. That's part of the charm of games like these, though.1 found this helpful
why the actual ♥♥♥♥ is this so unoptimized just the main menu has the mouse chugging bro what the actual hell do you have running in the background a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bitcoin miner? good game insanely horrible optimization there are games significantly bigger and deeper with better optimization even other particle sandbox games have better optimization i get this is free and all but JESUS CHRIST. its playable yeah and with a good PC you wont even be able to tell theres issues but this ♥♥♥♥ is actually criminally unoptimized and needs way more time in the oven in that Disrespect. if this game didnt run like Hellen Keller on Lean (use code GROUP to get 10% off LEAN at GamerSupps) it would be a solid 8/10 game but in the little bit i played its just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ bro.
