KUMACURE

Very cute megaman-like game, it is very easy up until the final boss. I love the animations and the music is good but the reviews weren't lying about it being about an hour long. I'll give it 1 point for every time I died to the final boss. 10/10.

An impressive showcase for what Pixel Game Maker can do, and a short and sweet homage to the Mega Man formula. I beat it in an hour and enjoyed it.

Kumacure is a really fun Mega Man like indie game. I don't think it's nearly as hard or challenging as the usual Mega Man affair due to both length and boss difficulty, but it certainly feels ascetically just as charming as the original Mega Man games were. As for the story? It's kinda nonexistent, and while there is some fun secrets in this game, it's never to the point where I felt compelled to do them, little alone found most outright. The game is honestly shockingly short both due to how easy it felt, and how short the levels were to began with. Thankfully the bosses themselves don't feel nearly as short changed as the levels do, but it really is a matter of cutting a lot of content from usual games like this that have multiple levels to explore. Most games like Kumacure are about twice as long and with twice the length of level to explore for both better and worse honestly. While I certainly can't say I liked how few levels there were, at the least each level did hit a scratch that I like while never actually annoying me. Bought this game after I saw it, thought it would be great. I started playing it and right away the music was great, the combat was extremely similar to that of a megaman game, and the art was spectacular. However; I stopped playing this game for a while as it’s kind of hard, and I pretty much suck at all games, so I pretty much abandoned it for a while. But one day I decided to pick it up again, and it was a blast. The game presents you with four bosses you can fight, defeating them grants you a limited version of their power. And towards the end of the game it makes you fight all of them in the reverse order that you obtained their powers. And then the Final fight. I shall not spoil anything for you but in my inexperienced experience it’s damn hard. And the music. Is. Rockin’. Honestly it’s a shame this game was so short and also a shame it’s not as recognized by the media. 8/10 game. Would play again. (The only thing I’d change would be the length of the game… and maybe exclude the ice levels.)

Short and Sweet. We live in a world where good games can be made with engines that don't rely too much on programming know-how and that is what this game represents!
