I didn't realize that at time of writing this, the game only had 25 reviews. Land Drifters is a pretty fun idle game, while it is in early access and eventually you reach a point you realize that certain systems aren't implemented yet, or that you're running out of content, etc. I have like, actively played it for dozens of hours and left it running on my computer throughout the day to check in and fiddle with some things, so I'd say having gotten almost "300" hours of game time, (915 hours of... account age..?) the price tag is well worth it, and I'm still enjoying my time with it as I try to get millions and millions of cactus for no reason. My main criticism for this game for all players, is that the lack of transparent information is crazy, like it's basically impossible to know how some systems work because there's no like, functional way to check what anything does, so you just kinda need to intuit it based on vibes, Stamina/Focus/Mana is a really strong and important, but how many people are realistically going to click the question mark and open the help page? even if a system is simplistic and easy to understand, the way information is presented in this game is nonsense…4 found this helpful
Its a nice chill game1 found this helpful
Its a good game worth the price. The dev is good with feedback on how to make his game better. I went onto the discord and made a suggestion for an improved player experience and the game was patched within an hour.1 found this helpful
It took a bit but I finally got all the achievements. While there are some idle aspects to this game, a fair bit of my time was active. As you need to set up work orders for all the gathered materials. There is no auto smelt and auto craft without you doing it manually, which makes it hard to quickly level anything up without you being somewhat active. All that to say, the game is still good for 5 bucks. It will take a while to get all the achievements, I'm sure it could be done a lot faster then I did it, with a more active play style though. I'll have to check back later if the game get more achievements after it gets fully released.
I'm sorry for being a ***** about this game but these still stand. It is wonderful and I should have read the damn tags first. 1: I have not ONCE had over-full inventory, and when you do get storage, it's cost so much that you just feel like you have to use it now or all those resources have gone to waste. [taking account of the developer's response, the cost seems to be very worth] 2: Why is it you can find plentiful Silver ore before you can use it for something other than selling it? [this ties in with storage] 3: why is it that you need so many Crystals* to get things and then you end up getting 40 off of the map(some things can cost downwards of 50 and upwards of 500)[they respawn, past me] 4(note): my sincerest apologies for tearing into your game, and I wish your development well [combat also has actives, and there is a starting tannery. I am stupid, and thank you for noting the text in brackets in a response(loosely)]
Really fun game, with a super addictive game loop and comprehensive idle reward mechanisms. There is a fairly large world to explore that is filled with various activities, minigames, crafting, gathering and combat. So far the developer has been super active with regularly updates is highly engaged with his players. There appears to be a lot of depth to this game that has kept me engaged and craving more.
