This game used to be one of my favorite games. The vanilla experience was one of the most enjoyable autobattlers I'd ever played. Going for every achievement, even the one requiring a level 1000 character, was fun. Leveling, and planning out the strategy for each character for dungeons, and raid bosses? That was great. I loved creating my raid party to go in, and delete a raid boss over and over again for loot and EXP. I completed every achievement, and even got a character to the absolute max level, with every single skill and piece of equipment capped. And I was happy. The expansion took that personally. New arbitrary mechanics that lock the new content behind a gate of annoyance. Content that was easier than most of the game we'd already played through. A grind that puts everything we'd done so far to shame, unless we wanted to delete our high level characters to cheese the EXP gain with low level characters. New Races... And no new slots to use them in. New level caps in all the dungeons and raids... Except now raids are just worse dungeons. You liked fighting bosses over and over again? Tough. Menu slop. That is the most succinct way to describe this game. Every little thing you go to do in this game, you're going through an entire universe of menus to do it. That would be all well and good if the stats and buildout of your teams actually meant anything. Spoiler alert: they don't. Just slap on the newest gear you get, upgrade it to near max which you'll be able to do for every character and then some after a few days of letting it run, slap on some newer abilities with barely a thought to their function, and keep just tossing your party at the wall till they break through. I did this the entire game and never had any issues. It is mind-numbingly dummy-proofed. Before the "expansion", I had an issue with the lack of difficulty outside of self-imposed challenges (if I have to make the rules to have any level of challenge, you failed somewhere in your design, period), it was fine enough for the length it was. After the expansion? Nah, screw this bloated mess. I had completed this game 6 months prior to the expansion, around the time it initially came out. Don't waste your time. Inconsistent dev work, and they don't pay attention to anything anyone posts, positive or negative, or helpful. Another "Vibe-Coded" game, that is not worth your time. Play your backlog.2 found this helpful
Great idle game! I like how you can adjust the settings and know what the normal baseline is. I set it for the hardest possible and enjoy that grind aspect of it. Really well thought out systems and you can make different characters to fulfill your desire power fantasy!
