Players generally appreciate this as a relaxing background idle/autobattler that doesn't demand constant attention, with some praising the developer's responsiveness to updates and the satisfying long-term progression system. However, common complaints center on the intrusive anime-style tutorial character that blocks the UI and can't be disabled, poor initial onboarding and balancing issues, and a cluttered design that feels unpolished despite the core concept being solid. The game has improved through patches but still needs refinement in its presentation and economy systems to feel complete
**Desktop Raid** is one of the most enjoyable idle desktop games I've played. Instead of demanding your full attention, it quietly runs on your desktop while you work, study, browse the internet, or even play other games. Your party keeps fighting, collecting loot, and growing stronger in the background, making your desktop feel much more alive. One of my favorite features is how relaxing the progression feels. Your heroes automatically battle through dungeons, gather equipment, and become stronger over time. Every time I check back, there's always new loot to collect or upgrades to make, which gives a constant sense of progression without requiring nonstop interaction. The pixel-art style is another major highlight. The characters, monsters, animations, and equipment all have a charming retro look, while still feeling polished and detailed. Watching your team continue their adventure on the corner of your desktop is surprisingly satisfying. The game also offers a good amount of character progression, equipment upgrades, and class variety, so there's always another goal to work toward. It's perfect for players who enjoy idle RPGs and want something running in the background with…1 found this helpful
Summary:
This game seems like a cheap chinesse game. => 1. It seem nice from a steam page. => 2. Is fun to play for a few hours. => 4. Then you start discovering more and more issues and poor design choices. Conclusion => This game should be marked as in early access.
Pros:
+Looks kinda nice +Innovative, (not many similar games) +Good for anime fans. (I like the idea of party of adventures slaying monsters on your desktop. You managing these adventurers and watching them grow. Reminds me anime like rising of the shield hero.) +Has gacha, but is not pay to win. (if gacha is your thing)
Cons:
-Economy of the game is broken (Growing and selling grass is the most OP strategy to get premium currency fast. Who is paying diamonds for all the grass? Idk.) -Everything spins around gacha rarity system (This is worst with recruiting heroes. At some point you just keep clicking over and over to get good looking legendary hero.) -Enemy in every dungeon are skeletons??? (Maybe add slimes or idk, some other stuff?) -Artstyle is inconsistent, some skins stick out too much. (Some are really detailed, some …1 found this helpful
Masterpiece of bugshit chinese game
Update 6/17 Ok so a lot of the issues have been patched with in the last week which is nice. The game still feels a little unbalanced but then again it is an idle grind game so maybe thats intentional. The only real issue is my game is still showing trial version instead of the full game and i cant figure out why. But if that can be fixed, For the price of the game its a fun game and well worth it. So ill chnage my review to positive. But with caution still. Original Review t his be on of those yes and no rated games. The idea of it is nice i love these style of games and there are others which is why i wanted to try this one. The core is there. It just needs a lot of work. So much is kinda out of place or i guess broken? or feels like it is. As many have said balance is well it needs balanced badly. Explanations on things arnt bad but there could be more details for those who struggle finding things. With that said im not sure if mine is bugged or what? Version is stuck on trail dispit having the game bought. Im not sure if anything is locked in game or maybe its just a display error. As i neve replayed the trail version to see if there is something locked or not. If the dev…
Fun to just have running in the background. Doesn’t seem to use too many PC resources, at least not for me. Whether I’m watching movies or doing something else, this is just a fun little grinder to keep open and make progress in.
The first game I've ever fully completed trophy wise. A grind at the start and having been one of the orignial buyers since this hit steam I'd say the dev support and constant upgrades make this an awesome background microbattle game that you can spend an insane amount of time on. For the most part I left the computer running sometimes for days so that my characters could level. Found a few particular characters more powerful then others, lvl'd them to past 1500 and now they carry most squads with the most broken equipment I've found in the time I've sat rerolling for broken extra's on the armour on top of getting it to it's top 10% stats.... Not the best instructions guide from the get go, however with all the updates I can only assume the instructions on how to progress through this have slowly improved. All in all, you'll definitly get your money's worth!
