About Laser Chess (Prologue)
The Prologue contains only a small fraction of the content present in the full game.
Deflection is a strategy board game, inspired from the classic Laser Chess games and the famous board game Khet. Move and rotate different pieces to destroy the enemy with your laser!
With a variety of pieces each having different advantages, abilities and weaknesses, use the one move you are allowed per turn to strategically bring you closer to victory. Enemy mirrors, Disruptors, Portals etc. can be used to your advantage!
At the end of every turn, you must shoot your laser... be careful not to hit your own pieces!
Play with your friends in the same room (local multiplayer/same PC) or remotely in the online multiplayer game mode, to show them who is the best!
Create Levels in the in-game Level Editor! Play them in Local or Online Multiplayer with a friend (without having him to download anything), or against the AI in Singleplayer. (Steam Workshop integration coming soon).
To win, you have to destroy the enemy's king. Most pieces can move in all directions by one cell and rotate 90 degrees, which constitutes one move. Advanced pieces such as the Disruptor can disable and weaken nearby pieces, Splicers split your laser into two, and others like the Portals can be used to surprise your enemy from behind!
Green pieces can be controlled by both players, which provides a new twist in your strategy.
Your friends are unavailable or you want to practice? Don't worry, you can play against the AI in the same scenarios/maps. The tutorial mode will guide you through the rules and useful tactics.

"Laser Chess (Prologue)" is not a game, it's an advertisement for a $12 game called "Chess with Lasers", that, unsurprisingly, was a flop. "Chess with Lasers" is a kind of PvP version of Chess meets Khet, but not quite as good as either. But it's not completely appropriate to discuss "Chess with Lasers" here because this is not that game, this is just an advertisement. This advertisement features fairly low quality low poly 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and it's clear the developers behind this didn't understand that. This is only free in the same way that adverts on Youtube and banner ads in your browser are. This is a game demo that's been dumped on Steam to advertise another Steam store page in the hopes of raking in some cash. Just because advertisements are free, doesn't mean they're worth your time. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 7 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. Основная механика, основанная на отражении лазерных лучей, гениально проста в освоении, но открывает безграничные возможности для тактических маневров. Каждый уровень представляет собой уникальную головоломку, требующую нестандартного подхода. Поначалу кажется, что всё сводится к банальному расположению зеркал, но со временем понимаешь, что нужно просчитывать ходы на несколько шагов вперед, предсказывая траекторию лучей и блокируя противника. Особо радует разнообразие элементов: тут и подвижные зеркала, и блокирующие поля, и даже телепорты, которые добавляют пикантности в уже непростые задачи. Визуальная составляющая игры тоже заслуживает похвалы. Минималистичный, но стильный дизайн создает приятную атмосферу, а звуковое сопровождение ненавязчиво дополняет игровой процесс.
