What a fun game this is. Give it a try for something unique and new.

"Laser Chess (Prologue)" is not a game, it's an advertisement for a $12 game called "Chess with Lasers", that, unsurprisingly, was a flop. "Chess with Lasers" is a kind of PvP version of Chess meets Khet, but not quite as good as either. But it's not completely appropriate to discuss "Chess with Lasers" here because this is not that game, this is just an advertisement. This advertisement features fairly low quality low poly 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and it's clear the developers behind this didn't understand that. This is only free in the same way that adverts on Youtube and banner ads in your browser are. This is a game demo that's been dumped on Steam to advertise another Steam store page in the hopes of raking in some cash. Just because advertisements are free, doesn't mean they're worth your time. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 7 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. С первого взгляда она может показаться простой, но под этой кажущейся легкостью скрывается глубокий и увлекательный геймплей. Основная механика, основанная на отражении лазерных лучей, гениально проста в освоении, но открывает безграничные возможности для тактических маневров. Каждый уровень представляет собой уникальную головоломку, требующую нестандартного подхода. Поначалу кажется, что всё сводится к банальному расположению зеркал, но со временем понимаешь, что нужно просчитывать ходы на несколько шагов вперед, предсказывая траекторию лучей и блокируя противника. Особо радует разнообразие элементов: тут и подвижные зеркала, и блокирующие поля, и даже телепорты, которые добавляют пикантности в уже непростые задачи. Визуальная составляющая игры тоже заслуживает похвалы. Минималистичный, но стильный дизайн создает приятную атмосферу, а звуковое сопровождение ненавязчиво дополняет игровой процесс.
