for a game that prides itself on inclusivity, there sure is a lot of ableism. yes, this is about the experiences of the elderly and coping with the changes that comes with, including to your abilities. the options presented in the game when thinking about disability are not presented in a balanced way. when you click what your character is thinking about needing a wheelchair or a cane, it's negative- there's never the option for a positive attitude, and rarely for neutral. in the way the game centers a community of very open-minded and progressive elderly folks, im surprised it was like this, because it just doesnt fit the tone & setting of the game. also it's really annoying that you have to double click to select choices but that's a pet peeve. i do enjoy how interactive the game is and how often you get to select what your character is thinking.

I like the premise, the art style is pleasant, you can have a pet robot! ... but I can't recommend the game for the simple fact that you can't manually save. Clicking on the save icon freezes the game. There's a thread in discussions from 2020, but that bug never got solved. Yes, there is autosave, so it's not gamebreaking, but I can't overlook such a blatant bug. Sucked all the enjoyment out of the game for me.

Let me start this off with saying that I really liked this game. It was cute, charming, and I really enjoyed the art style. I also found the cribbage minigame fun. It's a creative take on the dating sim genre. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to play the game since late December of last year. The starting screen is frozen upon launch and completely unresponsive. After several attempts at restarting my computer, verifying the files, uninstalling then redownloading the game, I still can't get it to work. Such a shame really. I was having a good time playing through it, didn't even get to finish romancing Crystal.

this is a game i really wanted to like, make no mistake. and i will give my props to the developers for trying to make a game like this at all; not shying away from the realities, both good and bad, of the elderly in a media culture so obsessed with youth and all that jazz, as well as not shying away from the fact old people do have sex. a lot. one of my complaints about this game would actually be that it isn't sexually explicit enough! seriously, for as much as the game flirts with sexuality, i expected to see some uncensored nudity somewhere, if not an explicit sex scene, and was a little annoyed when i got neither. and that segues into my main complaint with the game: it feels very toothless. nothing you or the other characters do feels like it has any real consequences at all. i understand that the tone of this game is meant to be silly and uplifting, and i don't have any particular problems with that, but there were a few scenes with particular characters that i feel should have led to you reaching a failstate with that character; ie, [spoiler]the bit with Jax and the movie relatively early on, and there's a plot point involving Albert near the end of the game which really…

I highly recommend this game for anyone 40+ who is contemplating their mortality. Also for anyone who likes The Golden Girls, cribbage, and short visual novels with great art. I took more screenshots of this game than I thought I would! Music is soothing, cribbage club alone is worth the purchase price in my opinion.
