The golden Age of Super Nintendo Roleplay Games. I remember playing ILLUSION OF TIME and beeing fascinated by a wonderfull Story. SECRET OF MANA, SECRET OF EVERMORE, TERRANIGMA and LUFIA, all of them showing me a whole new World and Culture, thanks to the Super Nintendo. In that Times i was mostly playing typical West RPG´s like the Legendary SSI Games (DRAGON LANCE, FORGOTTEN REALMS and more). So it was really something new for me and i loved it. And thats the Reason why i welcome Games like them today. Welcome to LEYLINE CHRONICLES! 8 different Characters with special Powers are waiting for you. Waiting to take you on a Journey finding themselves. On a Journey for the Fate of their World Orphania. Maybe the Fate of everything. Are you Ready for it? LEYLINE CHRONICLES Graphics are wonderfull old School. It really feels for me sitting in Front of my good old Super Nintendo. But this Time playing with Keyboard instead of Gamepad. A Gamepad can be also used here and Maybe it is better but i´m a Keyboard Guy. The Sounds and Music are also well done and are giving a nice Retro atmosphere. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3483203683 You are exploring the World…9 found this helpful
Leyline Chronicles makes a strong first impression with its stylish presentation and surprisingly engaging combat. The battle system is one of the game’s standout features, using a combo mechanic that’s reminiscent of Legend of Legaia. Stringing together attacks feels impactful and adds a satisfying rhythm to combat, especially since skills have different effects and some combinations can trigger powerful finishers. Visually, the game is mostly gorgeous. The environments are well done, but there are a few areas where the lighting is far too bright, making it difficult to see anything in certain spots. There’s a gear upgrade system, item crafting, and according to an NPC I spoke with a ring fusion system, though I haven’t reached that part yet. Because of this, loot mostly consists of materials for these systems rather than random gear drops. These mechanics add promising layers of depth and customization that should keep players invested as they progress. The story features several interesting plot threads and characters that are best experienced without spoilers. However, the writing in the early hours is noticeably weak, with clunky dialogue and odd pacing that might tur…1 found this helpful
Leyline Chronicles is one of those indie RPGs that immediately wears its heart on its sleeve—and honestly, that’s its biggest strength. The first thing that stood out to me was the voice acting, which is surprisingly stellar for a project of this size. It adds a ton of personality to the cast, and combined with the beautiful character portraits, it really helps sell the world and its characters in a way a lot of indie JRPGs struggle with. Combat is where the game really shines. It’s a turn-based system with real depth, built around chaining combos, managing your resources carefully, and timing your devastating ultimate attacks for maximum impact. It rewards planning and experimentation without feeling overwhelming, which makes every fight feel engaging instead of routine. There’s also a super fun side distraction: a card mini-game clearly inspired by Triple Triad, which is a great little bonus and surprisingly addictive. You can tell this was a passion project—the indie charm shines through in every corner, from the writing to the systems to the overall presentation. It’s not trying to be flashy AAA, it’s trying to be a love letter to classic JRPGs, and it absolutely su…
Leyline Chronicles is one of the most underrated but awesome games in the RPG maker community. It has a gripping tragic story along with great gameplay and combat mechanics. 100% recommended and I am very excited for LLC2. The developer did a very good job polishing everything and making it look professional. So kudos.

Directional combos makes for a pretty cool combat system and the story doesn't start with some hero waking up in bed needed to go to some guild to start his/her adventure while bandits ransack cause we need and excuse for tension to get the plot going. https://store.steampowered.com/app/3147140/Leyline_Chronicles/
