This game has too much running/hiding/sneaking. The level with the catacombs is the worst. The sigils will NOT stop the demon from crossing them once you fill them. Also to charge the various crystals to open the doors you need to charge them using the skull, which attracts the demon. If there were an easy mode or a cheat to turn off all the dying/running then I would likely recommend it, but as it is now I must warn other players to avoid this game.7 found this helpful
Lunacy: Saint Rhodes, developed by Stormling Studios and published by Iceberg Interactive, is a first-person psychological horror experience that aims to immerse players in a slow descent into madness. The game centers on Thomas Rhodes, who returns to his abandoned family home in the ghostly town of Saint Rhodes to investigate his family’s mysterious past. What begins as a personal journey of discovery quickly unravels into a surreal nightmare filled with dark secrets, reality distortion, and encounters with forces that defy explanation. It is a game that strives for an unsettling atmosphere rather than relying on constant scares, pulling the player into a psychological labyrinth that blurs the line between truth and hallucination. From the outset, the game establishes a strong sense of place and mood. The environments are detailed and oppressive, filled with crumbling architecture, scattered relics of the past, and dimly lit corridors that evoke both curiosity and fear. The Rhodes mansion serves as the game’s central hub, a decaying structure that feels alive with secrets. The player’s flashlight flickers against peeling wallpaper, dust motes drift in the light, and shadows move …4 found this helpful
genuinely have no idea why this game is sitting at mixed reviews. from what i've seen, the biggest complaint is with the puzzle difficulty... which in itself is infinitely more confusing than any puzzle you'll come across. there are, like, two bits in this game that are actually somewhat challenging to solve, and this is mostly down to vagueness in the instructions. just use common sense, and it'll save you so much of the hassle that most people have apparently had with this game. overall, this is just a really solid little cosmic horror experience. yeah, there are some jumpscares here and there, and the narrative isn't conveyed all that well, but the atmosphere is absolutely on point, and the enemies are actually pretty scary (particularly in the later acts). it's also surprisingly polished for an indie game, with it being able to run just fine on my 2017 potato gaming laptop. i encountered a couple of minor visual bugs, but none related to gameplay. the devs clearly have a ton of passion for lovecraftian horror, and this is a really underrated entry in that genre. it's not mind-blowing, but it's a really strong effort. don't let the reviews deter you.3 found this helpful
I personally dislike the controls for this game. if I couldve used the mouse to simply point and click, not grab move let go etc I wouldve liked it a lot better. Just too much, theres a lot things to open and pick up and its tedious. Also the writing is childish and totally wrong for the time period and the premise is weird. Couldnt come up with a better reason for him to go to a wet empty town at night?2 found this helpful
