About Saint of Chains

A 2000s retro-style psychological survival horror about a father fighting through shifting nightmares to reach the family he lost. You were busy... your stories, your career, they were everything. The calls could wait. You promised you'd be home. Now you're here for them. Your wife and your daughter. But is it too late?

Retro psychological survival horror game in first-person...

Built to feel like the early 2000s. You'll need to keep pushing, down through the apartments, into the weeping sewers, and into places you didn't know you remembered. But the walls don't stay still. They shift. They bleed into something else.

The combats are desperate...

Pipes. Bats. Knives. Cleavers. Axes. Anything you can find. And yes...Firearms exist. Pistols and guns. But they're fragile hope, and every bullet is a choice you must make to survive.

You carry less than you wish you could...

Keys, healing items, tools, and puzzle pieces... all take space in your limited inventory. You’ll be managing what little you have, making uncomfortable choices, and trusting your gut when you decide what stays in your pockets.

Uncanny puzzles like half-remembered memories...

The puzzles won’t make sense to your troubled mind. Not at first. Clues and logic from a half-remembered dream. They seem simple at first glance, but unsettling once they click.

This is a rescue mission...

The only thing holding your walls together. And some things... some are heavier. The monsters feel personal, as if they were born from sleepless nights and broken promises that you tried to ignore.Beings that don’t want you to see what’s waiting at the bottom.

2 indie developers. 1 Nightmare about a man who won’t let go...

A strange, sad journey. We hope it stays with you.Inspired by the haunting look of the PS2 and early Xbox 360 era, when horror felt heavier, louder in the quiet, and closer to the skin.If this kind of horror speaks to you, we’d be grateful if you wishlisted the game. It truly helps.

Very good horror game that doesn't always rely on jumpscares and keeps the tension high. I've played a lot of indie horror games in my life but this one definitely stands out.

This is a great game with an interesting story. Sure it has somewhat cheesy lines, but overall it's a decent story. The aesthetic is phenominal. I really like how many different and unique looking enemies there are. The environment is creepy all throughout the game. However, the main thing holding this game back are the bugs. I frequently ran into bugs where items wouldn't go into my inventory. Some would remain in my inventory when they shouldn't. Guns would just stop working in the middle of a boss fight. Entering the combo in a safe wouldn't work even though it was the correct code. This meant I had to restart to a previous save multiple times. What's good is that every time you save, it's another slot, so you can go back easily. If bugs get fixed, this is a must play for survival horror fans. FWIW, the dev is constantly pushing updates, there were several updates pushed throughout my playthrough so maybe some have already been fixed. Despite the bugs, this is still a recommend from me.

I really loved this game. The combat is really fun, especially after the update. The level design is beautiful, the enemies are scary and well placed in the game. The lore is spaghetti horror, great fit. The game shines in its simplicity. I enjoyed every bit of it and highly recommend it. As a side note, I had played some horror games before, but always been scared to commit to the genre. But seeing this game I thought "man I better get braver cause I really wanna play it". And it worked out super nice! It actually got me deep in the genre. It's a game that's dear to me now and it's gonna stick with me in fond memory! Thanks, devs!

Great small horror game that is very inspired by silent hill 2 and other classic horror games. Oddly cozy when you get rid of the enemies in an area and start exploring the surroundings, also runs great on steam deck.
