About Madshot

Cthulhu heard the call

In search of eternal life, you invited forces beyond your understanding. You must invade that abominable eldritch mountain of slushy nastiness known as Cthulhu. Be it your atonement or damnation.

You are in Control

Doge, roll, dash, wall jump, Backflip, frontflip, hang from ropes, and keep on shooting while doing it. Madshot offers a really fluid and responsive movement where you’re always in control to create intense and cool moments.

Slaughter your way to Cthulhu

There's a multitude of areas that each offer unique enemies and mechanics.
Kill enough enemies to charge a blood portal that summons rewards and a path to the next area and then survive epic and dreadful multi-phased boss battles.

Create lethal combinations

There's a big focus on synergies between Weapons, sidearms, upgrades, and ultimate abilities that you can combine to make each run unique and fun.

50k enemies? That’s not an achievement, that’s cardio training. 🏃‍♂️💀 I was done at 20k already, grinding the rest is a bit painful… But the game is super fun and worth it – definitely recommend!

Madshot rarely inspires the strange awe that Lovecraft is famous for: there are elements of randomness, of the undecipherable, the out-of-control (in the map of each region or in those dark rooms where odd figures appears), but the focus of the game is elsewhere. For the visuals of both the enemies and the environment, the work is massive. They manage to be colourful and grim at the same time. Regarding the boss encounters, they are not often a struggle, but offer the occasions to recognize the dauting entitites of the stories. But if I like the game and could easily spend 15 more hours playing it, it is rather because of the dynamism of the fights, those backflips amidst a rain of ammos, airborne combos during slow-mo or throwing void grenades at a horde of horrors while hanging upside-down from a vine. This changes from the rogue-lites that require to build decks with adequate synergy, although I also love those. It just feels so good to blast and survive and relive in this mix between bullet-hell and rogue-lite.

It's a well-done game, definitely worth a play. I wanted to play more after I beat it.

Phenomenal art, beyond addicting gameplay and loop and good ass music.

It's a cool game, but I'm kind of tired of rogue-lites. Nice art and movement. If you like this style of game, it's a good one, it's just not for me. 3/5

It's a fun and quick roguelite, side scroller, shooter, platformer with a Lovecraftian theme. Price is a bit high for how much there is, put it on your wishlist and wait. I would get it at $10 AUD. I REALLY enjoyed it, I'm sad to have come in at the 11th hour after development had stopped. It's clear the Dev's had alot of cool ideas that sadly where never implemented. It's still fun and playable as a finished game, just smaller than I was hoping. I felt they did "Pulp Cthulhu" really well, it's super satisfying to jump over a lovecraftian horror and bring your two-handed sword through them as you land. Backstory to the game is quite fun and worth a read if you are into the Mythos.
