You're introduced to a beautiful Sakura garden, and you are tasked with restoring the garden to its former beauty and helping to promote it to tourists. Basically, you do so by completing levels and using the gems that you earn from doing so to purchase items. To complete levels, you have to match mahjong tiles (and there can be variations, such as matching golden tiles or finding red tiles) and you have power-ups that can assist you, such as reshuffle and hint functions. Depending on how well you clear the board, you can earn up to 3 stars per level. As I mentioned earlier, completing levels earns you gems, but it can also earn you coins, which allows you to purchase refills for power-ups in case you run out. In addition to these levels, there are the occasional levels which are mini HOG scenes or spot-the-differences. (Note to the Developer: Thanks you for sending me a free copy of the Free Game. I wish for you to know that I appreciate you considering me for the Full Game, however, I do not have a big audience reach and do not want you to waste your money on a teeny Curator like me. Therefore, I will review your Free Game part and add the Full game to my Wishlist for the future. :>) It's been some time since I played a good game of Mahjong (the PC kind of course) and this one was far better than the ones I am used to. You know... The ones with the stiff controls? Lol. Anywho, the game is pretty. There are no freaky plastic AI faces either. Thankfully. I like the designs, the building of stuffs and just the game play overall. I also got excited over the Hidden Object part... But that's because it's my thing. I also like the clicking of the tiles... :) The ONLY thing I didn't like within these 20 Free Levels... Is the music. The main music has a few notes that grate on my ears and I just can't. But... The other OST within the Mahjong levels themselves seems fine. Therefore, this was enjoyed for a short period of time and I wish you the best. ^-^

Not the worst when it comes to the basic Shanghai experience. The quest text is very brief but you do need to play all the levels in order, and there will be bad hidden object games in between. You can skip these, or you could at the point where I gave up. What makes the game aggravating to me, and not worth continuing, is the fact that it expects and sometimes demands matches be made in an expected order. This isn't to protect the player, as shuffling and hints are available and it's possible to paint yourself into a corner like any similar game. But in various cases with no pattern I could discern, specific valid matches just aren't allowed. The mouse clicks are ignored. Then you'll do another match that doesn't affect those two tiles at all, go back to those tiles and you can match them now. Add to this the fact that the game is giving me hints without my asking, well past the tutorial, and I just can't bring myself to continue. If all the above seems trivial to you, the essential pleasantness of matching tiles while an anime girl bats her eyelashes at you, yet somehow miraculously resists the urge to remove her clothing, is undeniable.
