i really gave the game a chance because roguelike waifu VS-like games are generally fun. but this one just wasn't. it's more emphasis on story than anything else. but at that point just invest in a visual novel. i generally don't care for fan service. but normally the gameplay is priority over it in games that have it. but with this game it feels invasive. when you get damaged a certain amount (mainly by zombies dropping from the sky, directly on top of you) you just get this big interruption of the action for a fan service jpeg. normally games with this type of function just show it off to the side without gameplay interruption. the vaccine thing is just more tedious than anything. from a gameplay perspective it's just a waste of time. you could definitely just add the pic to the story and show the maids getting cured via story rather than this mini game. because it's not really fun at all. and finally the gameplay issues. This game does the thing that is the biggest problem with some games of this genre. it's just a stat check game. do a mission. spend currency on upgrades. you don't need to spend it on anything else because it's irrelevant compared to the upgrades fo…
It's a Vampire survivor like game with a lot of maid/zombie fanservice that can get really uncomfortable at times. But it does not compare to its inspiration. Limited pool of weapons and upgrades, lack of combining weapons to get better weapons, no enemy types beyond zombie that runs at the player and a vestigial mechanic of being able to convert enemies to fight by your side that is just useless in long run, makes repeated run of the game extremely repetitive and samey. Get on sale if you like maid zombie fanservice. For fans for Survivor-like bullet heavens, there are better anime style games for this genre out there.
Run around ~20FPS when turn on full screen mode in xbox ally X... but when set to windowed 1080p mode, it run at 120FPS... pls fix the problem!!!
love the game, very chill, pick up and go
Having played a ton of these types of games (survivors-like "bullet heaven"), I have to say I consider Maid of the Dead one of the weaker ones. I still had fun with it, but there are a few areas where it's lacking. The good: - The art is spectacular. Character portraits and unique cut-scene images are really polished. - All the cut scenes are fully voiced in Japanese. - The six playable characters feel unique enough, with individual guns, melee attacks and special attacks. - There's a level later on where you can kill as many enemies as you want for as long as you want before triggering a boss, making it easier to farm for gold and craft late-game items. The bad: - Environments look bland and generic. - Not many enemy types, and no variation in behavior (outside of bosses). Even the "elite" enemies are just larger versions of regular enemies who take more hits. - The power-ups that make up your build just aren't visually or mechanically interesting. There are a bunch of explosives and a bunch of drones, making for very little visual variation in on-screen action. - While the cut scenes are charming and well-acted, there are so. Many. Of. Them. The game's momentum repeatedly comes…
Maid of the Dead is a fast-paced arcade action title that blends modern survival-shooter design with anime flair and a tongue-in-cheek premise. Developed by qureate in collaboration with IXILL LLC. and published by qureate, the game drops players into a zombie-overrun Akihabara where combat maids are humanity’s last line of defense. Rather than aiming for grim horror, it embraces stylish chaos and exaggerated presentation, delivering an experience that is loud, energetic, and unapologetically gamey from the moment it begins. The narrative setup is simple but effective, serving primarily as a vehicle for action. A mysterious outbreak has turned the city into a sea of undead, and a group of maids—each armed with a unique combination of firearms and melee weapons—take it upon themselves to push back the infection. The story unfolds in short bursts between missions, offering character banter and light exposition that reinforce the game’s playful tone. While it never becomes the emotional core of the experience, the narrative does enough to establish stakes and personality, ensuring that the action feels contextualized rather than abstract. Gameplay is built around twin-stick shooter …
