About Malazard: Magic Defense

Malazard: Magic Defense is an action-filled tower defense game, where you are able to step into the role of a wizard.

With the help of Virtual Reality, the game's main purpose is to give you the feel of wielding destructive sorcery in pair with a fast-paced combat system. Besides your magical abilities it is still important to be ready to dodge an attack any time in order to prepare your own.

In the time of need, demonic creatures are sieging the last resort of the planet. You are the only hope to keep this world from getting torn apart!
We need a powerful mage immediately, more than ever!
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/xLBkV5gCyZg Is this a great game? Nope. It's just a 180 wave shooter with a dodge mechanic. So this wave shooter differentiates itself from others because it's magic based. Not just that, but there's several different spells to choose from and it has a variety of enemies. Other than that, it doesn't offer anything new or unique. It does not compare with SPT or BOTU, but it's not in their price range either. There's only one environment. However, each wave brings something new. Usually more enemies. But after 3 waves or so a boss fight is introduced and then a new enemy. You can play with different combination of spells. However, there is usually one spell that is clearly better than the rest so there is no need to use another spell, just double up on the best one. The animations look good. Most of the enemies look different, but don't really act too different. Some damage more than others. Most of the boss fights are, unfortunately, just the same skinned enemy but that's more powerful and has a quicker shot than the normal version of the mob. You can also sum…

This is a simple yet ultimately entertaining and worthwhile game. End game gets especially engaging. That said, it's a bit overpriced and you're better off waiting for a sale.

A decently put together magic-based wave shooter. You choose from a handful of spells, and fight against waves of demons/monsters that seem to be coming from a giant evil vortex in the sky. The level is pretty neat, like a crumbling magic castle. Game play is smooth and simple, with some variety in the spells, though I tend to just use the same ones over and over. Haven’t played enough to tell if it really makes a difference, like if some enemies are resistant/weak to certain spells or not. After a few minutes, I can see it has potential. I picked this up along with some other games in a bundle, and I’m happy with it for the price I got it. It’s an interesting take on the very crowded wave-shooter genre. Thumbs: UP!

Defintinatly a good wave shooter. It doesn't have to much to offer, but compared to the garbage that is generally out in the VR-segment, this one feels like a complete experience. I personally liked the endless mode, as it is also a challenge for you personal fitness as you dodge crouch and shoot the bow for quite a while. Devs, keep up the nice work

This is a fun, but simple wave shooter. It looks nice enough, but the aiming feels a bit on railsl. Sorta like having aim assist on if you get closeish to the target. The game is fun, but there is not a lot of variety here. Worth the price on sale, and not overpriced full price, but there are more interesting games out there. If it looks fun, give it a shot.
