About MasterQuest Fantasy

MasterQuest Fantasy is a captivating role-playing experience that takes players back to the golden age of tabletop RPGs from the 70s and 80s.It embraces the nostalgic charm of those classic adventures, inviting you to step into a world where imagination reigns supreme, and the unexpected lurks around every corner. With its procedurally generated world and a style that pays homage to the timeless fantasy of old, MasterQuest Fantasy offers a fresh experience with each and every playthrough. No two gameplay runs are ever alike. One adventure might lead you on a desperate quest to destroy a powerful trinket before the Dark Lord awakens, while another could see you locked in battle against the twelve mysterious Zodiac Knights who guard ancient secrets. One day, you might find yourself lost in a maze of enchanted forests, searching for the legendary Crystal of Shadows, and the next, you could be outwitting a cunning dragon in the depths of a forgotten mountain stronghold. The places you visit and the people you meet are never the same twice — from the mysterious wanderer who asks you to help him track a murderer, to the jolly peasant girl who invites you to play a game of snikzesfwhlingdir, each interaction and encounter is shaped by the unique world generated for you.Be prepared to face perilous traps, deadly beasts, and powerful foes that will test your mettle. Death is not just a possibility — it's inevitable. You will die in countless ways: perhaps valiantly battling a ferocious dragon to protect a village, falling in glorious combat against a horde of undead warriors, or slowly starving after getting lost in the barren wastelands of the Frozen Peaks.Or, maybe your end will be less dignified: slipping on a patch of mud while fleeing a group of goblins, choking on a particularly large bite of pie, or accidentally triggering an ancient mechanism that floods the room with hundreds of rampaging chickens. But with every death, a new story begins, and with it, new opportunities arise. Are you ready to embark on an endless journey, where every new adventure could be your greatest triumph — or your most devastating defeat? In MasterQuest Fantasy, the only certainty is that no two adventures will ever be the same. How far will your imagination take you?

A sub par effort that shouldn't be out of alpha yet, though there might be some potential down the road. The core of the game is random events strung together, but there are not a lot of options apparently, as in my six or seven attempts I got the same choices a lot. When you got to towns there are three options which may be available if open. The tavern (where you get a random meaning rumor, unless looking for reverse Gandalf then you might get a hint as to where he is) a blacksmith to buy armor and weapons or sell stuff, and a market to buy random stuff and food, or sell stuff. Every town is basically exactly alike. The dice roller is used for a lot of things, like accomplishing tasks or having combat, but damn if it isn't worse the the worst cursed dice I ever used, I get a 6 or below about seventy percent of the time. The map is illegible, with names of places so overlapping they can't be read. They can by thinned down by hiding the three types of locations, towns, points of interest or dungeons, but even then they often overlap. For some reason you can zoom in, but the text magnifies at the same rate, meaning it becomes even less clear then usual. And it is deadly, any actual …

I initially gave this game a positive review. That review was based on potential. It is a fighting fantasy style game only with a lot more freedom. It's a great idea and I really really want it to do well. Sadly, it's also absolutely riven with bugs, many of which cause severe problems with gameplay, some of which are run ending and the more time that goes on without a significant update to fix those bugs, then I can't in good conscience leave up my positive review. It's been abandoned in a barely playable state. And that's a massive shame, but it is what it is. If the dev comes back and fixes their game, I will return this to positive. Let's hope another dev can pick up these ideas and implement them properly. Let's also address the elephant in the room. This game reeks of AI. I don't have a problem with that. The dev had good ideas and used AI to implement them. That's what AI is for in a good way. No shame in using it to fill in for skills that aren't your strengths. But you do need to be honest enough to put this in the store page description and also have enough skill to double check and correct the AI's work and not just put it out as a finished game. There is talent in …

I will give this a thumbs up but it has a caveat - you will die alot especailly early on and often with no chance to avert it . I also think its better just to get on sale as a full price is too high you will just die at the first or second place you visit everytime it seems - and one just seems to fail on the die rolls for every kind test the game puts to you. There isnt any easy way to make money either so you quickly run out of money to buy rations, ifyou survive long enough. Worst of all if you explore a dungeon and encounter a creature which seems insignficant but is invariably taking chunks out of your HP, you cant flee, so you simply have to hope for favorable die rolls, but they never come. I think the main characters HP is always far too low. Trying to take a healing poition during combat also seems to spell doom for you character. I get he appeal of games where you die and repeat and get better, but that is not really possibl ein this game as every new adventure doesnt carry over any stats and its randomised all the time. On the randomised aspect though, while encounters can be a bit random, you tend to always ahve the same ones - encountering a cultist, encount…

MasterQuest Fantasy has a fun and engaging concept, and I’ve enjoyed my time playing it. The RNG mechanics feel fair, and the challenge keeps things interesting. That said, the real issue is the sheer number of bugs. Helping an orc chop wood? Don’t do it—you’ll receive an item that outright breaks the game. If you pick up +3 rations, you won’t be able to eat, meaning starvation is inevitable. And whatever you do, equip your gear the moment you start, or you’ll get obliterated before you even get your bearings. The foundation of the game is solid, but the bugs make it hard to fully enjoy. If the developers can clean things up, it could be a great experience—but as it stands, MasterQuest Fantasy is more of a frustrating adventure than a legendary one.

Alright, the game is pretty simple, and rough around the edges, but it's simplicity is magic. The soundtrack is great and the subtle changes in the score bring it together. I'd like to see calendars, time of day, hunger/thirst, that kind of thing. But so far, I have to say I recommend.

The game is really good, but it ends up being quite easy. In fact, it's so easy that sometimes I end up dying because of the sheer amount of food dropped by enemies (the amount of food bugs and he dies). Still, it's a fun experience to play
