Mega Knockdown

Very fun game for any fighting game fan for any skill level. If you're a casual fighting game fan, this is a fantastic game to goof off with, if you're a beginning player, this game will teach you a lot of core concepts, and even if you're a good player, it'll highlight aspects of fighting game decision making you didn't even know you were making on a subconscious level. What I really love about the game are the characters. Move set properties are largely shared between characters to make it simple to carry over knowledge between them and understand the opponents options without committing lots of options to memory, but with 2-3 move set changes, each character feels extremely unique so you never get bored. That's not even touching on how fun all the designs are. I've also very much enjoyed watching all the updates roll out with art being properly added to the game. It really helps to make the turn based combat read well and you can tell so much love went into each sprite. Highly recommend this game!

Mega Knockdown is honestly just a fun time for anyone who loves playing and thinking about fighting games. Even as someone who's just lightly keeping in touch and playing an arcade run once every few years, the fundamentals of the game are immediately familiar. The writing in the 1P arcade mode is an excellent combo of self-aware and classic genre fighting game writing.

The best way to introduce people to fighting games! No more pressure from quick reaction times because it's turn based or spending hours in trainings mode learning combos just to have the damage for a chance to win. Just hop in a game and fight using the pure fundamentals of fighting games like; the RPS of attack -> grab -> block, positioning and situational moves.

Give me one other fighting game where you can do a ft5 against its creator on a random Tuesday night while being separated by the Atlantic Ocean ?! Peak Art and Gameplay 10/10. Plays even better on Steamdeck from your couch. 12/10

Joined the Under the Counter 2 tournament for it and had a ton of fun^^ Will defo see if I can use it to help beginners grasp a better understanding of the nuances of fighting games with all the time in the world for people to make their next choice^^ Great Art too! And Jerma!
