Merge Maestro

Firstly - Most of my issues stem from the highest difficulty. Up until (much like another reviewer had stated) the 10 hour mark, the game flows great. However, the game gets more difficult the more you unlock. The final difficulty isn't "necessary" to beat to have a fun experience, but it's nearly impossible to beat unless you get a good / cheese strategy going. The issue is that the final boss in the hardest difficulty is relentless. It's very, very hard to counter and do 200+ damage per turn - and in some cases, have to do 200+ damage 3 (even up to 5) times per turn - without having lucked out on your tokens. It's a great, super fun game. It's not too hard to get really into. The token pool expands greatly the more you play, which makes it harder to find what works well together in any given run. You also only get the selection of 1 out of 5 packs, which is fine in most cases. However, it becomes apparent there's some balance issues, and have 4 of the 5 with very few damaging tokens that can appear (especially at the lower 1-4 numbers). Fun merge game with some unique twists and roguelike progression. Really well done. A steal even at full price.

There's a lot going on here, feels like it has a pretty high skill ceiling (or I'm just dumb) and lots of content to keep things interesting.

Excellent game, on par with Slice & Dice. I've primarily played both of them on my phone, but decided to buy Merge Maestro on Steam as well simply because it's cheap and the dev deserves more good reviews. My only complaint is that you can hit integer overflow and end up causing your tokens to do zero damage.
