About Midsummer Night

  • A surprisingly elegant sunset forest;
  • Fascinating narrative, in which reality and fairy tale are intertwined;
  • Measured and secluded gameplay, interspersed with neat arcade elements and quests;
  • More than 17 game locations, some of which may be walked through in a number of ways;
  • Colorful characters of Russian folk tales.

Great atmosphere. The story is well told, with an appropriate sense of humor. Beautiful music. The puzzles (such as they are) are a good difficulty. There are hints in the menu that point you in the right direction without simply giving you the answer. It's a memorable experience.

A short adventure game, in which you play as a young boy living with his sister on their own at the edge of a forest, until one fateful afternoon when the sister is abducted by a horrible monster and dragged into the forest, and the boy must set out on its trail to save her. But it is the shortest night of the year, when old magics awaken and anything can happen... Game features well-crafted pixel graphics and music that is pleasing to the ear, gameplay consists of simplified interaction with objects and limited inventory, several dialogues with NPCs which determine direction of the story, and a few minigames. Gamelength-wise, the story can be completed easily under one hour, but you can get different endings (and different achievements), which provide for some replayability. Overall, a pleasant little adventure which fans of this genre will surely enjoy.

A nice and atmospheric game. The graphics and sounds are well done and really help you to immerse yourself into the games world. While the game is short, it does have a branching storyline, where different decisions take you down different paths, giving it replayability.
