Mind Zero

This is typical oldschool jrpg with great soundtrack, and i am here for it. Reminded me of the days, when i was playing persona 1 for the first time. Most negative reviews, because port is kinda lame, it could be better, but i bought this game with 80% discount, so i dont complain

Hard to recommend this game with clear conscience, even on a deep discount. Sometimes games stay obscure for a reason. The game isn't broken, it just isn't that good. I'm only playing because I was desperate for blobbers that I didn't already play and don't rely on the dead-horse Wizardry ruleset. This port of a Vita game has some serious technical issues. Absurdly long loading times, only one low resolution, cutscene portraits load in with an obnoxious gap between their body and face. Technical issues aside, there are also some serious issues with design and pacing. The game whiplashes between barely any story, and long-ass yapping sequences for characters who take 4 whole textboxes for something that should only take 2 sentences. The combat often feels like a raw level check. Either you have enough buffer MP to win every battle scot-free, or the boss will seemingly stunlock your characters while draining your bars in 2 hits. For as often as you will be fighting the same enemies with the same animations, the game desperately needs a hard-skip for animations. SMT if it wasn't good. ...Okay, it's fine. But just "fine". Save it for when you want to play SMT but don't want to play any specific SMT game. And if you've already finished Metaphor, I guess.

Okay~ish game which has a few bugs such as story achievements can't be unlocked when progressing through the story which I encountered plus the combat gameplay is fine and story/characters are average but during middle to end portions of the game I become more engaged with the characters/story with the cliffhanger ending to story piqued my interest of where this story could go. Overall, buy this if like persona type games and on sale since it just an average game.
