Powerful magic is at your fingertips as you prepare for a ceremony that will protect your island home! Guide the young twins Hika-Ri and Kao-Ri as they go their separate ways on a journey that will culminate in a once-in-a-lifetime experience. As they gather the items and skills they will need to perform a ritual that will save their people from disaster, you will control them one at a time, strategically gathering and managing resources, repairing villages and completing quests for the natives they encounter.

✦ AI summary

Players are divided on this MOAI game, with some finding it a solid time management experience that lives up to the series, while others feel it unfairly ramps up difficulty early and removes the relaxing nature of the genre through annoying enemy mechanics and excessive grinding. The game offers two playable characters and new mechanics, but complaints center on frustrating obstacles that interrupt gameplay even on easier difficulty settings, making it less forgiving than previous entries in the series.

Another condition-dependent review - but this time I veer toward warning people to stay clear of this game. I liked first 4 MOAI games, and I even bought all the rest of the collection in hopes of getting the same or even better experience. But - lo and behold - I got tricked... Games of that genre are usually pretty relaxing, and only push you hard in later parts of the game - and only if you are going for achievements, 100%, doing challenges - this sort of things. But this one... Oh, this one! You are thrown deep into the shark-infested waters pretty much right from the start. Forget completing levels in gold with time to spare and on the first try - you will be doing them over, and over, and over again! Yes, you are given tutorials, and yes, there is Easy mode if you are completely new to this kind of games - or feel like doing something relaxing and taking your time. But Casual mode doesn't feel like casual at all - more like hard-core, with a very little room for error. I couldn't complete even the very first level on timer without replaying - and I'm maybe not a pro, but definitely a veteran of time/resource management games! Out of about 20 levels finished at the time of wr…

The achievements are a bit of a grind but it is still another classic time management game.

Plus side: -if you have destroyed dopamine receptors, it lets you play long essays on YouTube without getting bored -it's fun having two characters, playing as the priestess adds some new mechanics Minus: -even if I played on a casual with no timer, the ghosts were so annoying and frustrating... Still somewhat better than the birds in the previous game, because there were also animals that you had to click that would only bring resources. But that makes this relaxing game not so relaxing. -every part from 2 to 7 has Arabic numerals in the title, but this one has Roman. Please fix, literally unplayable
