Cute Mystery Dungeon game with cute monster girls. Not much to explain here, if you played any MD game you know the gist of it, the only difference is that game is balanced around befriending monster girls who serve as your companions in dungeons. Overall it's pretty neat take on the genre and I have plenty fun playing it. The endgame is pretty brutal but story reaches satisfying conclusion way before that so it's not mandatory for more casual play. I've heard opinions that you should go straight to second game and skip this one, but there is nothing particularly terrible about this one, the only problems I noticed is that controller support is nonexistent, but you can always map keyboard actions to controller using Steam Input or third party software, and that I'm pretty sure english translation was done using machine translation since it's very incoherent. It's not that big of a deal since game story is simple and understandable it's just sometimes item/skill descriptions or girls request are hard to grasp. But overall it's a good game with cute girls so it easily earns a recommendation.

Quite a fun monster collecting spin on Mystery Dungeon, plenty of cute monster girls to choose from with some nice variety both in looks and in abilities. Unlike the main character, the girls also retain their levels upon returning to town, making them the main means of progression - at least in the start when you don't have a reliable source of high-level gear to meld and upgrade. Having to rely on companions this much can feel a little weird, especially when they use area of effect abilities and ranged attacks rather indiscriminately. You can freely switch their behavior options though, helping with that somewhat. I've only cleared the main ("tutorial") dungeon so far, and there looks to be an extensive post-game with multiple new dungeons offering unique challenges and altering rule sets, but I will probably stop here in favor of checking out the remaster instead. Also the English translation is really rough, but for the most part it's not really that big of an issue.

Frustration but fun. I had 3 revival fruit in a magic bag and didn't realise that it would not use them from inside it. the 20 item limit is frustrating in later dungeons. the fact you lose your entire inventory except whatever is equipped when you die except one dungeon. the fact the storehouse doesn't stack arrows but your inventory does. the fact the enchantments are words instead of symbols. the insurer can only insure swords, bracelets and shields.
