About Monster Girl Manager

Monster Girl Manager is a monster-raising roguelite that focuses on guiding a team of monster girls through dungeons.

All monster girls are procedurally generated from a player entered seed. Entering the same seed will always produce the same Monster Girl, so players can post seeds they have discovered for others to use. In addition to aesthetic traits like eye color and skin color, seeds also influence base stats and personality.

Personality and Monster Type directly influence dialogue, skills, abilities, gift preference, and training preference. Monster Girls have different strengths and weaknesses in battle so finding and training different team compositions is a core part of the gameplay loop.

Dungeons are designed in a Mystery Dungeon style. Traverse a multi-floor dungeon filled with traps and enemies while managing the health and energy of your team. Collect artifacts during a run that empower your team in battle.

Players can upload their own sprites, dialogue, palettes, and dungeon layouts. No coding is required. Simply edit the included text files and restart the game. Monster Girl Manager reads easy to edit png and text files and includes readme files to aid in file manipulation.

Very based and fun game if you enjoy monster girls, Im sad i didn't review this back when i played it as i forgot. Developer is very nice, and listened to feedback back when the game was still being developed but is mostly finished now. They're making a new game as of writing this so hopefully it's more Monster Girl stuff, really hoping for a jrpg with Monster Girls...

Fun, and I was inspired by Tea Time Centaur to play this!

The game is slow. A fight starts and you wait what feels like 10 seconds until all the artifact effects have played out, then another 10 seconds for orb effects. After that, your backliner buffs your frontliner, waiting another 3 seconds for the buff animation. Then about 5 more seconds because you filled your Orb gauge, followed by another 3 seconds for additional artifact effects. Next, the midliner attacks the enemy , 3 seconds wait. Then your frontliner attacks and kills the enemy. Because of an artifact, the enemies moving up take damage, which adds what feels like another 6 seconds. Then the enemy attacks your frontliner, whom you naturally loaded up with every “on damage taken” debuff you had — which again takes roughly 10 seconds to fully play out. All of these time estimates are approximate and based purely on how it feels while playing, but the pacing becomes very noticeable over time. When you first step into a dungeon, the fights are a bit slow but still manageable. However, by the time you reach the boss, a single round can take several minutes to resolve because there is no speed up option, at least none that I could find. The game would easily be a 7/10 for me if…

A neat idea, but the game lacks polish that I would expect for the price. The roguelike dungeon aspect is decently well balanced, but extremely repetitive and just feels very slow and clunky. The teambuilding is quite shallow, and it feels like the characters really lack any depth. It's fun for a couple of hours but that's about it - I would not consider it worth more than about $5.
