MoonRun

Um... well, if anyone who's old enough to remember playing "Moon Patrol" in the arcade when we were kids, this is obviously an homage to that game. I loved Moon Patrol, it was an era of games before the fighting games came in and took over. Like Zaxxon, Xevious, Gyrus, Galaga, and even Lunar Lander, Moon Patrol was cool. This 8-bit platformer, doesn't use X-Box Controllers (wah, so what) if you want to play with an X-Box controller, go play on an X-Box. For real gamers, there's a PC it even works on a Mac! and it's Free! It's got a cool synth soundtrack, and did I mention it was free? I will play this game more as it's a casual shooter for when you're bored of all the high-tech games out there. Whomever created it, this is either something created in their free time or someone's first game. Either way you can't beat free and it doesn't suck as titles like Just Cause 3 that I paid a ton of money for and keep crashing. So spend your hard earned, oh wait, it's free. Just get it and play this will sipping some caffeinated water between rounds of CS:GO.

MoonRun is a free indie 2D retro pixel endless runner/arcade shooter hybrid. Gameplay consists of buying ammo, selecting the mission you want, then starting the mission. Each mission entails sitting in a truck as it moves along a retro pixel lunar landscape, and aiming the gun at the back of the truck at various enemies as they float ahead. A lot of work seems to have gone into the game menu, mission selection and so on, while the game itself is a real basic, simple, 2D retro pixel game pf the sort that is really popular on itch.io and nowhere else. This amounts to a pretty good makeup job on the pig, but at the end of the day, it's still a pig. They chose to use obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution and controls are locked, and to make matters worse, the game displays locked in both pillar and letterboxed format, so it runs as a little postage stamp in the middle of the screen. С первых минут погружаешься в завораживающий мир, где каждый лунный цикл меняет окружение и открывает новые пути. Управление отзывчивое, но требует привыкания, что добавляет приятную сложность. Визуальный стиль игры — это отдельная песня: минималистичный, но невероятно красивый, с плавными анимациями и завораживающим саундтреком, который идеально дополняет меланхоличную атмосферу.
