Ok, only 8 hours in, but this is one of the most unique and interesting Deck building Rogue like games I've played in a while! Using shapes as a constraint for "casting" and vector areas of attacks feels fresh in a genre filled with Slay the Spire and Balatro wannabees. I am truly impressed with this game and highly recommend giving it a shot!1 found this helpful
good Spirelike
I enjoy the unique aspect of no mana and the puzzle like way of playing cards. It is a new take on my favorite genre. That being said, it does feel unfinished. There is no variability in end of stage bosses. It is unclear to me how to get the final starting deck unlocked for each character. I have beat the third boss with each character, and filled the mastery for the characters, but the last deck still says beat the final boss to unlock. I would like to see more variability in board shapes, possibly adding different regions that add or take away benefits. I realize this is sort of done through ghost type sigils played by the enemy, but the replayabiity is getting pretty old fast.
My latest addiction. The puzzle element to using your cards adds a level of play that makes me really think about how to synergize my cards. Would like to see more bosses as the end of stage bosses don't change. The first character you get is the least interesting, so at least play until you unlock the second one before determining whether you like the game!
Great game...very challenging. A lot more in depth than it may seem. The last boss has really cool mechanics you have to keep in mind during your entire run.
do you like slay the spire? If so you will probably like this cause its very slay the spire inspired. I hate the art and the music is the most boring forgettable music ever and the story is uninteresting but I dont really care cause the gameplays so good. It takes a really interesting gimmick and really explores it to the fullest making the board more than just a substitute for energy by doing really inventive stuff with it. One thing I loved about slay the spire that I havent really seen done as well in other deckbuilders and I think this one nails is each characters archetypes naturally synergising with each other giving each character a very unique vibe and playstyle. unfortunately theres also only 1 boss per act which hampers replayability but the bosses that are there are very well done. Also another thing I think this does very well folloing in spires footsteps is fairly simple systems with surprising amount of depth to them. of course I probably need to play for longer to properly talk about this but my last run I found a new synergy Id never thought of before on the character Id played the most and I definitely feel like theres more to discover
