Moshcave is a sincerely, but very badly made Early Access 2D top down retro pixel wave survival shooter. Gameplay consists of running around a small top down arena and blasting waves of enemies. There's a simple upgrade/level system to the game that adds a small progression element, but not enough to save the game for the deplorably weak premise and even worse technical implementation. The game is still being developed, but development is slow enough that the game appears to be headed to Development Hell. While there's still time before the game reaches the developers committed deadline to complete the game, it's only getting very small updates every week or so and hasn't been updated in over a month. There's no reliable indication the game will ever be completed, which is another reason for gamers to avoid this. It's important to remember that only about 25% of Early Access games ever get completed... the vast majority of Early Access games are abandoned and all money taken from gamers is never refunded. Early Access games are a huge risk and in general should be avoided. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers exp…2 found this helpful
Playthrough here: https://youtu.be/PxiJhqDkktM I actually really enjoyed this game the upgrades make you feel pretty op which is always important in an action roguelike. I love that the game sticks to the mosh motif as you can fight to be closer to the band and the music gets louder depending how close you are to them and man oh man when the lead singer comes out to join the crowd it becomes wild. I don't know what the other reviewer is talking about at like floor 14 the game starts ramping up in difficulty continuously probably explains why he played it approximately 6 minutes. It could definitely be improved on with achievements, graphics, Full Screen and possibly more copyright free songs as you advance floors. The game is already definitely worth the price already.2 found this helpful
Abandoned game

16 months since last update

Changing to THUMBS DOWN. Game will never get made. Below was my original review with original edits, as written.
----- I paid $0.34 and that's fine. It is an EARLY ACCESS game which is fine, so nobody should expect much because at the time of this review the game is v0.1 I'm neither going to give this an exhaustive review, nor am I going to tear it apart. I liked the simple but clear graphics. I like the simple enemies. I thought the chippy music was cute. I liked the upgrade system. Room for immediate improvement: More music would be nice. More tile graphic variety, and/or room accents as well. Different enemy behavior (some should jump, wait, run away, chase, pattern, etc). Some actual strategy required of the player, not just kite & shoot. Needs a ton of work, but for an Alpha this is quite good. Keep my small amount of money and keep going Dev! Looking good so far. edit: Saw the dev promoting on reddit, meanwhile the game hasn't been updated in 66 days. Changing this to DO NOT RECOMMEND because clearly this game will never get made. edit2: Ok, so the dev did make an update! I will keep watching, and i…1 found this helpful
cute game i really like it hehe i became big fan of this dev work making atari like games
Its ok. This isn't as great as Jurassic Fantasy, but it is fun for a short while
A fun little roguelike for 99 cents Health regen is way unbalanced, you can easily attain a state of invincibility which makes fighting the hordes of monsters feel a little pointless, theres no sense of a threat coming from the horde or from discovering a new enemy. Also the level up screen just kind of pops up with no warning, which kinda interrupts the flow of the gameplay. Has some framedrops when a new floor loads. Other than these things its a neat little game, but it's a little too easy.
