The world and characters are absolutely adorable and lovingly crafted. When I first saw Shank, I actually almost fell out of my seat laughing! And I really appreciated the voice acting, which went a long way in bringing the game to life. The pictures after each level also added so much world building and got me really invested in the characters. There were also many cool moments that would shake up the gameplay, like having to run towards the camera away from a giant monster, or racing against your evil self! Although, I did find the side scrolling portion in Level 2 rather dull in comparison, restricting you to only your jump button instead of adding any new challenge. And throughout the game, the windy track at times could be disorienting. Level 2 was an absolute rush with its fast-pace and challenging obstacles! But the game at times also felt a bit repetitive when there were stretches without much keeping you on your feet, like in Level 1 and the back half of Level 3. While racing against Lemon in Level 3 was very engaging, it felt over all too soon, and I really had no idea how she was defeated. I was a bit disappointed that I easily got three scoops on every level my…

It's that time of year again, time for me to indulge in student project games popping up after the semester's end. First of the year, Move, Move, Melon!! This reminds me not a little of an on-rails homage to Super Monkey Ball, except this time you're an ice-cream addicted hamster looking to gather up ingredients to get your fix. It's not that difficult but does get a little twitch-flinchy at times, particularly in the sections where camera perspective switches to side-on. If I had one complaint, it would be the lack of controller support; gameplay is functional on the keyboard, but would feel such more natural on a controller. All in all, Move, Move, Melon!! is a fun little race that doesn't take all that long to conclude.

Very cute game! Every individual aspect of the game comes together iharmoniously for an enjoyable, adorable, and exciting experience. I loved every second of it. My only critique is that I wish it was a little longer (the game takes about 25 minutes to complete). All in all, looking forward to seeing what this dev team puts out next!

Hats off, this is how you should bring younglings into gamedev. They have an option to work in a team, develop a short game and publish it on the most popular pc gaming platform. And if they did their homework, it's a great kickstart for their CVs. The game itself is a family-friendly short cartooney runner, quite charming and doesn't bore you too much. Probably slightly inspired by crash bandicoot.

Who is Melon? For the blind, she is light. For the hungry, she is bread. For the sick, she is the cure. For the lonely, she is company. For the sad, she is joy. For the prisoner, she is freedom. For the poor, she is treasure. For Shank, she is a pet hamster. For me, she is everything. If Melon talks, I listen. If Melon points, I look. If Melon commands, I obey. If Melon has a million fans, I am one of them. If Melon has one fan, then it is me. If Melon has no fans, then I am no longer of this Earth.
