✦ AI summary

Players criticize this jigsaw puzzle game for numerous technical and design issues, including missing fullscreen and audio options, a poorly optimized window interface that can hide puzzle pieces or UI buttons, and low-quality asset images with some rotated incorrectly. The core gameplay is further hampered by showing the completed picture underneath, removing the puzzle-solving challenge, and the overall presentation feels like a hastily ported mobile app rather than a proper desktop experience.

I don't write reviews often, but I guess I have to now. I won this game today and gave it a try, here is a list of the problems I encountered in just over 20 minutes of playing... The game starts up for the first time in windowed mode, there is no fullscreen option. There are no options at all. The window is resizable, but if you make it to narrow, you loose access to puzzle pieces (no scrolling or zooming of the board). If you make it too wide, you loose access to some of the UI buttons. While the store page gives music credits, there is no music in the game, no sound effects either. I would have looked in the audio options, but then again, there are no options. There are some nice pictures in the game, some of them are rotated 90° counter clockwise. Well, I guess that's what you get when vertical pictures are included in a game that only supports the horizontal format. The buttons don't work reliably. If you f.e. cycle through the categories or pictures (they are in a fixed order), it sometimes happens that there is no change for one press of the button, followed by cycling ahead twice on the next press. The puzzles are rather easy, that's to be expected as it is made for kid…

It is not awful (not good either), but there is so many much better jigsaw games out there that it is a waste of time to play this one. Works fine on Linux with Proton (Proton 4.2-1).

Mr Rabbits Jigsaw Puzzle is an asset flipped mobile app jigsaw puzzle game. You get a selection of pictures from three categories, architecture, animals or landscapes. Apart from the clunky interface and poor quality mobile port, the game itself is just uninspiring. The photos are very low quality low resolution assets. The game shows you the picture underneath so there's little guesswork on where the pieces go... part of the mystery charm of a jigsaw is deliberately removed. You might think it's impossible to get a jigsaw puzzle game wrong, but here we are.
