✦ AI summary

Players are divided on this game, with some enjoying its exploration, art style, and discovery-driven gameplay as a relaxing indie experience, while others criticize the combat as sluggish and clunky with poor enemy AI that allows stun-locking and standing around passively. Common complaints include unresponsive movement, unbalanced weapons favoring the mace, repetitive sound design, and unclear mechanics like arrow pickup, though supporters appreciate the large inventory, exploration rewards, and overall aesthetic appeal.

I personally did not like this game because it feels like amateur game design. I did not refund it and decided to do everything in it to leave a full review. The Good: -Inventory is large -Enemies take different scales of damage based on weapon The Bad: -Enemy AI is awful. They stand around and let you kill them. -Most enemies can be stun locked with any weapon. -The mace deals top damage on everything. -All weapons swing the same making all melee boring -"Spellcasting" or shooting an orb from rod, is boring and slow. -Arrows are weak and near impossible to pick up off ground because of lack or reticle or focal point -Sound effects are AWFUL. The same sound from every enemy except the dragon. -Weapons swing through the enemy. -Level design is awful. I feel this way because most of the terrain is excessively hilly with one way to go making things feel very linear which this game is not intending for. One would think if a game is 90% platformer, the moving physics should be good. They are not yet. They are too floaty and aloof. Many of the traversal puzzles require precise movement. -Merchants are far and few between and do not refresh stock. Ever. which again is a problem beca…

Had this game on my wishlist for a bit as from my steam's discovery queue it looked interesting. While I've had a little difficulty with the visual style of the game it has overall been an enjoyable experience. Once it comes out fully I can't wait to experience the full content of the game and I recommend it as a purchase.

This game would have been an all time favorite if the combat and movement were a little more snappy, every movement is like moving through water.

Out of the bat I'll say, the game is not for me and is pretty rough in terms of physics, later on empty feeling levels, poorly communicated story in blocks of text, and worst of all, almost no thought put into game feel making the game feel artificially slow and annoying for no payoff. But i admire that the developers are willing to listen to feedback and try helping or chatting with the community publically (xoxo Dyoto), for a fan of this genre I'd see reasons to enjoy it like freedom in combat with fairly balanced weapons, freedom in how you can approach levels or just the story/fantasy of it, I am just not that type of a guy. I know they're well-intentioned and judging the this type of quality on an early access product is disingenuous, so I want to show my support for the vision and will be happy to play again in the future when those random gripes get ironed out.

Mythrealm is a smooth RPG that feels great to play and stays fun thanks to constant discovery. The worlds are packed with places to explore, secrets to find, and plenty of enemies to battle plus challenging boss fights. The combat is great and keeps things moving. If you like wandering off the main path and getting rewarded with loot (and fights), it’s an easy pick.
