Alaloth: Champions of The Four Kingdoms

I kind of see what the game tries to go for, and although I'm definitely not a part of the target audience, I do respect an attempt at creating something new and not blindly cloning the existing formulas. Unfortunately, innovation does not make poor KBM controls any better — both action and UI controls are still not enjoyable and barely usable respectively. A game for a very particular niche player.

It reminds me of the original Diablo or Titan Quest. Just waves of enemies and random loot. Not having a fast travel option is a huge negative as well. If you like really old style games with minimal voice acting, lots of reading, and terrible quest markers, this is your game.

As they say I really wanted to like this game....Beautiful art, a dev that speaks like a human, countless updates etc... However I am already done after the first try in a fighting arena. As countless people told you before the difficulty spike is horrible. I am absolutely not spending time learning the ropes in a game that does not let me save and reload as I make mistakes. I died 3mins into the FA and lost 3 days and durability, thank you and good bye. Maybe it is your vision but it is not my fun. Also I spotted weird things: I could not enter the FA called Proving Grounds, be it at night or day, and the cheese that was supposed to give me +75max HP gave me nothing at all.

I really like the combat, is the fun part. But in all the rest I still feel the game is not finished. I REALLY feels like a celphone game, and for an RPG that tries to be so big in intiself, this speaks volume... For starters, "Exiled kingdoms" is a cellphone game, and the world feels much more living than in Alaloth... I guess you could say that while the devs aimed for a much, it still lacks "alaloth" (heh) I really get the promise: The game puts a lot of lore and you can see the effort in all of that, but everyone feels bland, lacks personality, and the saddest part, which is why I like RPGS, is that I feel zero character progression or flexibility. The EXP system is clompletely static, so is pretty much a lot of things. Maybe im being too harsh, but all and all, Its still an enjoyable game. I wouldnt recommend because of how niche it can be however, so its understandable a lot of people stray away from it. I may change my mind but we'll see.

Oof, no. Combat feels awful, everything else feels sort of clunky and slow. Add to that the fact that the devs use AI for translation, a fact that had I known in advance I never would've bought the game, I really can't recommend it. No thanks. Edit: Okay, so I decided it's not fair to give no detail on exactly why I think the combat feels bad. So, here we go. The game is tagged with Souls-like, so let's compare the start of the game with Dark Souls. In Dark Souls, you start the game with a hallway with a couple of non-aggressive enemies, just to get a feel for what swinging your weapon feels like. You get your first bonfire, then likely your first death against the Asylum Demon. After a bit, you learn an important lesson: if something is too tough, sometimes you should escape and come back later. Then you get your proper starting gear and a few aggressive enemies, one at a time, and learn that enemies can have both ranged and melee attacks. In the next room, you learn that the game can have traps, but the trap leads you to your healing item, so you can heal from the damage you most likely took from the trap.
