Some quests offer unique rewards and provide new opportunities to shape your character and the world around you.MORALITY SYSTEMMany encounters in Mythscroll carry choices that can shape your character’s morality. Helping travelers, completing certain quests, or defeating corrupt creatures will raise your standing, while acts like robbery or harming innocents will lower it. Your morality influences how others treat you. Those of high virtue, such as knights, guards, or angels, will turn hostile if your reputation sinks too low, and some quests may only be available at specific morality levels.
CHOOSE YOUR CHALLENGE LEVELMythscroll offers three difficulty modes tailored to different playstyles. The default mode of the game provides a classic, challenging experience: when defeated, you lose some gold and one item before awakening in the last safe zone. For the boldest players, Permadeath Mode raises the stakes even higher, as your save file is deleted if your character dies.Players looking for a more relaxed adventure can choose Kind Mode, where only gold is lost upon death (and at half the usual amount). Kind Mode also grants a 30% XP boost for faster progression, raises the legendary creature encounter rate from 3% to 5%, and provides passive HP and mana recovery (2% per turn while traveling or waiting). Both Kind Mode and Permadeath Mode can be selected during character creation, though only one can be active for a character at a time. Kind Mode may be toggled on or off at any time using the smiley face icon in the top-left corner of the screen, while Permadeath is permanent once chosen.HAND PIXELED BACKGROUNDSThe game includes dozens of hand pixeled backgrounds to represent each area in the game. There is an "Immersive Backgrounds" setting option that allows you to toggle between having the full size pixel art backgrounds on, or just having a clean and simple black background.

It took me a little while to figure out what to do to progress in the game when I first started, but I'm addicted now that I can actually attack some of the creatures and win or complete tasks. I still die sometimes when I try to explore certain areas too soon, but that's all part of the fun.

TLDR: This game has solid bones and could do with a tad more polishing and more fleshing out in terms of adding lore even if that would be sparse it would reward the player for exploring and be something to seek out. The game is fun to play and the encounters are varied, some are more repetive than others but I did not find this offputting, most of the time you gain something out of it, either a resource, gold a new weapon. I recommend this game to anyone who like these types of games. Long version: Enjoyable game. THE GUI functions really well, easy to pick it up quickly. I love the map system, pick anywhere you want to go and you will head towards it with a series of encounters until you reach your destination- no fixed paths! There are repetive encounters but can often have variations such as a merchant encounter might be interested in what you might have to sell or a bandit attacks you and you attack back and they flee. You can learn about other places on the map through encounters with NPCs you run into on your travels, they sometimes give you an item if you ask or gold if you ask them but sometimes they refuse. But I found the RNG is fair. Although on my first play thr…

I am enjoying playing this game. It took me a bit to figure out the mechanics of the game but this was most likely due to me not reading the directions at-all. Even after skipping the directions I was able to figure out what I needed to do. There are plenty of different options to play and ways to configure your characters. So far I have found the game very enjoyable.

I love the concept, I love the background music and I even love the UI and the way the game is set up overall. What I HATE however is that this game is 100% RNG. 0% Skill and 0% based on your choices. Every decision you make it just a dice roll. Ugh. If I want a random number generator, I have a pretty vivid imagination and I can just go to any free random number generator website. https://youtu.be/GMqhORMoBw4 Maybe it's just not for me, but I like to feel like the choices I make and what happens is based on a little more than just a random number every single time. NOT RECOMMENDED. ..Unless you just love games based on 100% luck, I'd give this game a pass, especially at this current $13 USD price tag. You can buy some pretty damn nice dice for less, JS.

I’ve been hooked on Mythscroll lately and it’s honestly such a hidden gem. You can totally feel the mix of D&D and BitLife in the best way — building up your character, rolling with the random events, and watching how your choices change the story is super addictive. Every run feels different, and it always pulls me back in like ‘okay, just one more go.’ You can tell there’s a lot of love put into this game, and I’m excited to keep playing and seeing where my adventures end up.

You literally get the same 3 events over and over again. It's more barebones than a skeleton in the desert and about as engaging as corporate literature.
