NAIRI: Tower of Shirin

I played the game for Play or Pay 2nd Cycle of 2026 and it was picked for me by Itsly. I won this game through SteamGifts. NAIRI: Tower of Shirin was a really charming little adventure game. The character designs are adorable and full of personality, and I got attached to the cast way faster than I expected. The world feels warm and cozy despite some of the heavier moments in the story, and that balance worked really well for me. The puzzles were mostly fun too, with a nice variety of tasks so the gameplay didn’t feel repetitive. I also appreciated that the game gives subtle hints here and there instead of completely holding your hand. That said, a few puzzles definitely crossed into [i]“how was I supposed to know that?”[/i] territory and had me either brute forcing solutions or looking things up. One thing that annoyed me a bit was navigation. Some exits between areas really aren’t marked clearly, so I got lost more than once just trying to figure out where I could actually go. The biggest downside though is that the game is clearly only part of a bigger story, so it ends on a cliffhanger (kinda literally, which honestly made me laugh a little). Still, if you enjoy cute point-…

Maybe its enjoyable for others...but not for me.... im in the sanctum now and can be bother to finish the game... the navigation is kind of annoying as well as the mouse over to select object...... puzzles also very annoying.... just not my type of games...

I was a little on the fence wether to give this a thumbs up or down based on the fact that this game ends on a cliffhanger and the episodic nature of this game doesn't really come through in the description. Due to the word [i] chapter [/i] at least hinting at this I landed on a thumbs up. I love the story and the art style. I really want to know how the story continues and now sadly will have to wait god knows how long for that. Towards the end the riddles got a lot harder but I didn't think of it as that bad. For me it was more irritating that it wasn't explained properly how to find coins [spoiler] (clicking on certain parts of the backdrop) [/spoiler] or that the dialogue took so long to disapear that I kept clicking, starting it over and over again until I could rein in my impatience.

A solid family friendly little adventure game. None of the puzzles are too challenging and I could see this being a lot of fun for kids or for parents to play through with their kids. Just as an adult player, while I found the puzzles a little easy, the story itself was really engaging and a lit deeper than I expected for what it is. The art style is very neat as well and there is quite a bit too it for the price and it will take about 3 to 5 hours to finish depending on how quick you read and how stuck you get. Well worth the price. There is a sequel too that continues the story.

Point and click. Charming art. A bit of wandering near the end, but largely the puzzles at the mid/end are interesting and solveable. Neat story if a bit with cute animals everywhere. Note this is one part of a larger story. It feels like a full game, but doesn't resolve the main story.
