Namaiki Dark Elf Sisters

A game that surprised me from the get-go: fun, charming, and boasting by far one of the most stylish UIs for an eroge I've seen in a while. Everything about this VN feels vibrant and full of life, even moreso than some other games of the genre that feature Live2D, despite the character sprites and CGs being almost entirely static. Even outside of the sex scenes, which are about as delightfully raunchy as you'd expect, the writing is surprisingly witty (sure, almost all the humor is sex-based, but given the nature of the game, it gets a pass), and there were a few instances I actually found myself laughing out loud due to the sheer absurdity of certain scenarios. I also like how the girls actually take a little while to acclimate to the protagonist (Ober) and the situation they find themselves in, instead of their personalities doing a complete 180° and immediately doing submitting to Ober the first time he whips out his ♥♥♥♥. It makes the progression of the story, and therefore the sex scenes all the more rewarding. You play as Ober, the half-human son of a dark elf lord, which leaves him in an awkward position inside his own household. He serves his three dark elf sisters, gets looked down on constantly, and is basically treated as someone beneath them. Then the prophecy drops: the child born from Ober and the woman who truly loves him will one day lead dark elf society into a new golden age. That instantly flips the whole power dynamic. The sisters who used to treat him like dirt are suddenly forced into direct competition over him, and that reversal is really the core appeal of the game. The story is not deep, and it does not try to be. This is not some massive lore-heavy fantasy epic. When you've played as many games published by MangaGamer as I have, you instantly recognize the animation styles, tropes, and voice actors their client studios use. Sadly, no dimwitted deredere (lovey-dovey) character this time as all three sisters are just outright cruel at first. Not tsundere, mean and nasty. But they do warm up to the hero and even begin to show genuine affection once their racial pride is overcome. The story is where things shine. A lot of MangaGamer's titles--even [i]♥♥♥ on! Bukkake Ranch![/i]--have some excellent storytelling if you stop and read the dialogue. [i]Boob Wars 2[/i], in particular, really puts the "novel" in visual novel. This one lays out why the dark elves have such a hard time procreating and exactly why the hero's house is believed to have some unique magic or alchemy to help them overcome the race's low fertility rate. It's just all sorts of techniques to keep things fresh in (and out of) the bedroom.
