About Nea Edem

In a time beyond quantification, humanity has mysteriously disappeared, leaving the machines to populate the flooded Earth. In this scene, a gynoid awakens, and it's up to you to uncover the mystery of this lifelike mechanical marvel.

In the first ever 3D game from the creators of the Lloyd the Monkey series, you explore a small area collecting energy cores and upgrades required to progress further and higher up. The journey will be short, but exciting: as you will explore a variety of post-apocalyptic locales and battle death machines as you search for the cores you need.

However, exploration is secondary to survival, as enemies will hit hard and fast with a variety of deadly projectiles and grow smarter as they take more damage, so stealth and skilled aiming are absolutely essential, especially in the flooded ruins you will be exploring. Your goals are to seek, shoot and survive in Nea Edem, where the end of the world is just the beginning.

Nea Edem is a contender for one of the worst games on Steam. Seriously, it's so bad I laughed when I tried to play it. It's a 3D third person platformer shooter slapped together badly with Unity. It's so bad I wished I was playing an asset flip because most of the time those rebadged store assets work properly. Controls are locked and there's no way to invert the mouselook to correct it... so you're stuck with a completely unusable inverted mouselook. Movement is a sluggish affair that would be comical if it wasn't so painfully slow. The camera randomly clips through the various low polygon, barely textured game assets. Aiming is nigh on impossible as there's no aiming reticle, and you shoot in the direction your low poly model is facing. Oh, the camera doesn't properly follow your avatar either. And you have to try wrestle that with the awkward controls and the inverted mouse! The models are so ridiculously clumsy they really look like the kind of thing that seemed incredibly space aged and futuristic in 1991. The screenshots don't do this train wreck justice, it really is possibly the worst game on Steam. This game is quite a revelation. Before playing this, I would…

I think this game is awful, but my buddy Sean believes this is a contender to be a SeanGem (check out his curator page!) Edit: I have now actually beaten the game and think is eh. A sequel could be one of the best games ever though
