Yes, in it's core Metal Eden is twin to Doom 2016. Only one CON. And lots of PROs. I was really shocked that UE5 was not "plastic". I felt the gunplay and melee combat. You have to try this game. 84/100

Even after getting it on a sale, I'm not sure if it's all that worth it. While I love the art/aesthetics, the story isn't anything special and at the end, starts collapsing in on itself or something. It feels like they ran out of budget. Definitely some bugs here and there. I had to reload the final boss once because he wouldn't proceed to the next step. Seemingly solved by killing all adds next attempt. The first of two autoreload perks is bugged and doesn't work at all. The upgrade screen weirdly has some poor translations, but the rest of the game is fine. Gameplay-wise, it's alright. Doom-esque, but the fact that the majority of the guns need a reload combined with the aforementioned 1 autoreload perk not working starts hampering the gameplay. Weapon upgrades are really not balanced. Some being either really bad like grenade double explosion or so good that it's possibly bugged like the final upgrade on the final gun that reduces alt fire cost from 30 ammo to 1.

Good but short game

Poor mans doom/metroid. Tries to be both, fails being anything but a massive headache. Nothing works, nothing is fun. Lame dialogues and the whatever story do not help either.

Plays very well, little similar to modern Doom games. Wish it was a little longer, you'll get 6-7 hours out of it on a basic playthrough.
