Needle Sleep

It was quite fun except for the very last boss puzzle-which went on a bit longer and required tighter timing than I would have preferred. Cool story, a few fairly basic puzzles, creepy atmosphere. You shouldn't trust any surgeon who wears sunglasses during their operations though.

Great atmospheric game, will spook you for sure while you search for the clues to move forward. Love the cryptoids, wanna read those tomes asap.

Excellent free retro indie-horror game. Short and sweet. Cool enemy and solid sound design. You can tell the Devs are Silent Hill fans, especially in the sewer area looking beyond block passages.

Needle Sleep is a short horror game that starts in a way I really like. I wake up after a procedure at Blackburn Surgical Hospital and find myself completely alone in these dark and empty halls. I have no idea if I am awake or still asleep, and the deeper I go, the stranger everything becomes. It does not take long to get into the creepy stuff, but I think the hospital setting works really well for this kind of game. The low resolution retro style is probably the first thing that stood out to me. It gives everything a slightly old and uncomfortable look, especially when I am walking through the darker areas and cannot properly see what is ahead. I also like how the game uses the environment instead of constantly throwing things at me. There are clues to find, documents to read and little details around the hospital that slowly give me more of an idea about what is happening. The flashlight is a pretty important part of the gameplay too. I can use it to get rid of corruption and open up new paths, so it is not just there to help me see. I liked having that extra reason to pay attention to the environment because sometimes the darkness is hiding something useful rather than just be…

Any game so difficult that I have to watch it on Utube to see the full game automatically gets a thumbs down. What broke the game for me was having to find the four numbers of the code and trying to input it into the keypad with an eyeball right there notifying the monster. So thanks but no thanks.
