Never Give Up

Disclaimer: I wrote this review after completing 100% of all achievements of this game. (Game time: ~92 hours) [h1] Never Give Up![/h1] [h2] The best hardcore platformer with any lore that I played so far [/h2] Never Give Up is a hardcore platformer game and the spiritual successor to Tasselfoot's own flash games Give Up and Give Up 2 (which also feature blue and in which he was not able to depend on the kindness of checkpoints yet). It has decent, but not overwhelmingly different music (the music is mostly written for the environments Blue finds himself in (at least 2 different tracks for each world) as well as one track for boss fights) I have to deduce some points for the FPS which tend to vary on my RTX Laptop Ti GPU, even when I set my laptop into performance mode (this way it is far more endurable). I would have liked to see more graphic options in the game itself - however, it must be considered that according to the intro credits of Never Give Up, it is a game that was ported from Nintendo Switch to PC. Fantastic 2D precision platformer in the vein of Super Meat Boy. Difficult but rewarding; has a surprising amount of content and replay value for completionists.

This is one of the hardest precision platformers I have ever played, so definitely have loved it and hated it so many times; definitely liking the "kindness of checkpoints" phrase! I liked the voice over when you keep dying which kind of makes your frustration be heard from a 3rd person perspective and cool down as some of them are funny.

I never gave up :D

If you like super meat boy you'll like this. I was recently on a precision platformer kick, and this is one of the best ones I've found so far.
