About Ngayak

Ngayak is a calm desktop idle experience inspired by traditional river sand sifting.

While the game quietly runs in the background, sand from a mountain river is gradually processed to reveal hidden minerals. Each discovery is added to your personal museum collection, slowly building a record of rare stones and small treasures found over time.

Designed as a gentle background companion, Ngayak doesn’t demand constant attention. You can check in occasionally, see what new minerals have appeared, and watch your small museum grow day by day. It’s a slow, relaxing experience made to sit peacefully on your desktop while you work, study, or relax.

Gameplay

Ngayak runs quietly on the desktop as an idle companion.

River sand is gradually sifted over time, revealing different minerals and stones. Each discovery is automatically added to your museum collection. As more minerals are found, your personal museum slowly expands into a record of everything discovered along the river.

You can open the game anytime to check new discoveries and continue expanding your collection.

That being said, here are my cons: The game has no tutorial, it took me an hour and a half to notice that nothing was actually happening. I read the step by step guide up top but it didn't explain how to do the main part of the game - sifting. It ended up realizing that the sifting only happens during the work mode of the pomodoro timer, and I had to put the timer on maximum and break time on 1 min in order for the game to keep running. The money is very unbalanced in the game. After an entire day of running the game (it was offline so you can't see the hours above) I was able to change my skin color and buy no other cosmetics. It takes forever to be able to buy a single thing in the game. The choices for the character are really limited. There are 2-3 hats you can choose from, for example. There is a very large room you can decorate but barely any furniture items as well. Maybe instead of working on the furniture they could've focused on just the character instead? The game has no ac…
