This game is not at all what I was expecting. I thought I would simply run and jump through desert ruins, collecting coins as I went. It turns out that there is quite a bit more to Nia Jewel Hunter than one might think. You control Nia, a young girl, as she traverses numerous ruins to find her way home. It starts out easy. A multi-story ruin with coins, jewels, and a glyph to locate. There are color-coded buttons to push to clear your path so you can reach all collectibles and finish the level. Once all collectibles are in hand, a door opens to exit the level. No problem… Once a level is complete, you can replay it to improve your time (if you are a player with a need for speed). The game saves at the end of each level and, if you exit mid-level, you will need to start it over when you return. The game is divided into two episodes of 9 levels each. I have only played for a couple of hours, but I believe that I have the basic feel of the game in hand. New levels have added mechanics. There are one-way conveyors, ramps to raise and lower, and elevators that only go between certain floors. This means that you now need to plan your approach because it is easy to paint yourself int…
Glad the dev is listening to feedback, but it is still not there
Difficulty: ★☆☆☆☆ This is a fairly simple and easy 3D pathfinder puzzle platformer, the first chapter is very easy, with not a lot of mechanics going on, but the second one is getting a bit more compex (but still easy) with one or two more mechanics. The core gameplay is pushing buttons to open doors to collect 2 gems (keys) that open the exit door for you to progress, while avoiding softlocking/trapping yourself somewhere. This is a few hours of easy fun that doesnt require much brainpower. I would recommend the game, but this game is literally half (ish?) of the game it should be. The other half is supposedly still TBR according to the dev... which is why I would hold off from buying it in this state, until the 'full' game is released. The dev was listening to the feedback, which I really appreciate. The gameplay is MUCH smoother and a lot less frustrating with the free range zoomout view. I could actually finish the 2nd area I started last time. Just finish the game and this will be a farily good, simple and cute platformer.
