✦ AI summary

Investigate a murder mystery aboard a cursed cruise ship while solving puzzles and uncovering dark secrets in this 3D point-and-click adventure. Survive encounters with the terrifying Scissor Walker by running, hiding, and staying silent as you race to escape the ship's supernatural horrors.

A calming cruise, an unexpected horror.

Welcomed aboard a luxurious cruise liner, you are spending your time enjoying this rare opportunity.
But at the height of the evening, things are not as they appear as a murder brings it all to a grinding halt. With no idea which direction to turn, blame is thrown around the ship in panic as the guests start to suspect one another.
As night falls and a cry echoes out through the ship, the true nightmare begins.
Search for the answers and save yourself and others from a terror you can't begin to explain.

NightCry is a 3D point-and-click adventure game. Click to move your character and search the ship. Interact with objects by selecting them. Make sure you check it all carefully, for the clues you need may not be easy to find.
But searching isn't all you will be doing. As you search, you will be haunted, and the Scissor Walker will be coming for you.
In Exploration Mode, explore the cruise liner for the answers you seek. Learn about the strange and often gruesome happenings that currently plague the ship, solve the puzzles and seek the route that will lead you to safety.

But be warned, searching through the ship's secrets will lead you to trouble and frantic escapes are the only way to survive.
Run, hide and stay quiet for it is coming, and maybe you will survive long enough to learn the true horrors of this oncoming evil force.

Please be advised that the current system requirements are still temporary.

i havent finished the game yet im on the final chapter near the end tho and i wanna say that overall this game is actually pretty good for an indie project. the graphics are lacking but theres a real passion behind this game i think overall its pretty cool the choices/actions u make determine the ending like the og clocktower however this game is significantly long so it makes it more annoying to reach a bad ending especially because many of the story affecting actions are easily missed such as getting a ring from a vending machine. although the game uses a flowchart system showing u exactly what lead u down ur urrent path so after ur first run it shouldnt be hard to see what u missed. as for puzzles and progression, its fine theres this annoying system where a character wont speak all their dialogue at once so u need to talk to them multiple times in a row to progress, one section like this in chapter 3 can lead to a bad end if u dont call ur friend in between talking with a crew member, kinda stupid but it makes sense i guess considering the context of the scene.... genuinely dont think this game is possible without a guide cuz of how many small actions can kill u or give u a …

Honestly? I loved this more than I thought I would. It's janky as hell and feels extremely low budget but it's a charming little game with clever puzzles. Also Monica is a badass. If you have a soft spot for PS1/PS2 Survival Horror games you'll enjoy it.

NightCry is a weird and wonky game. You can see the Clock Tower-roots in the gameplay, but it is completely it's own thing. Fair warning, this can be a frustrating game due to the gameplay and it is not really scary due to a lot of things being accidentally comical. It is not for everyone. If you are looking for a solid horror game to play alone, look somewhere else, but if you are looking for something fun and weird to play together with friends then this is a good choice. Still leaving this as a positive review because I love wonky japanese games.

This game is janky as hell and hard to play (in a bad way), but if you're a Clocktower fan it's easy to ignore those bad parts and have a good time. If you don't know what Clocktower is or don't care for it, then don't waste your money. You'll hate this. DON'T play without having a guide on hand, otherwise you'll likely screw yourself over and have to replay the game from the beginning just because you missed one item or dialog line.
