Nightork Adventures 2: Legacy of Chaos is a small arcade shooter where I fly a spaceship through caves and fight demon ships that are trying to destroy the galaxy. The main idea is pretty simple, but the colour system gives the combat something a little different. I have red, green and blue projectiles, while enemies have their own colours, so I need to use the right colour against each one. It is a straightforward setup, but it gives me something to think about while I am flying around and trying not to get surrounded. The colour mechanic is easily the part I find most interesting. I cannot just keep firing the same weapon at everything because I need to pay attention to the colour of each enemy and choose the projectile that complements it to make white. It sounds simple, but when several enemies are attacking at once it adds a little pressure to the shooting. I like mechanics like this because they do not completely change the genre, but they give a basic arcade shooter its own identity. There is also a decent amount of content for such a small free game. The campaign has 30 missions and five boss monsters, and I can upgrade my ship by changing weapons, armour and other equipm…
